I'm sorry Galen if you thought some comments were negative and hope you weren't upset by them because one of them was mine. It was my opinion, no worse or better than any other and not intended to hurt.

As a completely different idea, which would be much easier to organise, how about a Gransnet contingent at people's local Race for Life.

Sort of combination of charity fundraising, positive image of older women and a local meet-up.
I shall be coming to the UK to do the race with my DD and DGDs, but I will be walking rather than running. We could even have a special Gransnet sash over our pink t-shirts!

What about Wrinkly Riding (horse riding that is), Senile Sailing (I could do that), Doddery Dog Walking (several assorted dogs + Zimmer frame), Aged Archery, Pensioner Potholing, Batty Biking .........!

I'd do the aged archery, Thatbags can only do early middle aged archery!

forgot to add - the idea given here by Mamie, is what I was referring too.

I should have added that the Race for Life distance is only 5km and you can run, walk or dance round it. The one I will do is literally a walk in the park.

The idea of a teeshirt would be great but sadly Race for Life would be difficult - one leg could run (a bit) but the other would fail miserably .

Glad the idea of a naked calendar seems to be fading - I wouldn't be able to participate as (a) I hate having my photo taken and (b) I wouldn't want to frighten the horses (as my dear old grandmother used to say!)

I think something that shows the diversity of gransnet members would be good - from ordinary to out of the ordinary. Something to challenge the stereotype as shown on that Shreddies ad.
