I can't open the 'active' page. Can get to the forums, obviously but I have the active page pinned to start on my phone and it won't open sad

Elegran Thu 04-Sept-14 16:49:17

I have been getting error messages for various GN pages - then a few minutes later that page is OK and a different one is unavailable. I think they must be updating things. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Yes,something called Apache in invading GN. Help!!!!

thatbags Thu 04-Sept-14 16:50:42

Seems to be okay now. 'Active' link wasn't working for a while.

Elegran Thu 04-Sept-14 16:54:41

Neither was the "I'm on" or the ones to "Doctors getting it wrong" or to this "having trouble" We should report it to HQ - it may be tech updating things or it may be something else.

Same here - my error message said Apache Tomcat! confused

OK now, though...

I hit 'preview' and am asked whether to open or save.

Charleygirl Thu 04-Sept-14 16:58:35

I had the same problem as thatbags, it is obviously okay at present,

Elegran Thu 04-Sept-14 17:03:55

Apache Tomcat is a genuine server thingy. Presumably the GN website uses it. It has been know to have problems though (I did a Google)

Active link not working earlier. Okay now.

henetha Thu 04-Sept-14 17:19:01

Mine seems to be o.k. now. Doing a full scan, just in case.

Sorry everyone, minor debacle but should all be fine now confused

Mamie Thu 04-Sept-14 17:52:35

Well I got all the Apache stuff and then lost the internet completely for half an hour......

HollyDaze Thu 04-Sept-14 18:36:19

I got the same Tomcat message - I could read the threads but not post (I couldn't click on 'I'm On' but could browse them from the forum lists.

Seems fine again now.

I googled this tomcat thing and it is a bona fide thingy.

I'm having trouble posting now! A box comes up asking whether I want to save, open or cancel message but if I cancel my post comes up as posted anyway...confused

Elegran Thu 04-Sept-14 18:59:46

I can't reload a page!

rosequartz Thu 04-Sept-14 20:41:53

If I try to post it asks me if I want to save it or open it. If I then press the 'back' arrow it has posted.

(so if you see that I have posted something even stranger than usual, I may not have meant to press 'post message').

Ana Thu 04-Sept-14 20:44:10

That's the problem I'm having too (see my post above Elegran's).

GNHQ, it sounds as though there's something not quite right at your end!

Ana Thu 04-Sept-14 20:57:12

I've just turned my computer off and on again (!) so will see if it's made any difference...

Ana Thu 04-Sept-14 20:57:48

No...hmm

rosequartz Thu 04-Sept-14 20:59:49

Off I go to make a cuppa and pick up my knitting!

Post messsage, open, no, cancel, etc etc ...

LucyGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 04-Sept-14 21:05:24

Hmm, it's fine from where I am - I'll contact our tech folk, but it may be worth restarting your browsers in the mean time (just in case...). Bear with us!

Ana Thu 04-Sept-14 21:19:04

I just did that! As I SAID, Lucy...

Ana Thu 04-Sept-14 21:20:08

(Getting cross now - sorry! hmm)

LucyGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 04-Sept-14 21:34:34

Unfortunately there's nothing I can do from this end without the help of tech Ana but they have been contacted and are working on the problem. Since it's working for me from this end, it may still help other users to have a go at restarting their browser, or try using another one for now. Sorry for the inconvenience all!
