What is the protocol?

For members who join, turn out to be either abusive or behave in some other form that is unacceptable, but then re-join under another name, sometimes repeatedly under name after name?

This is generally such a good "place" and I feel very miffed that some people abuse the good nature of members by taking the piss presenting themselves as something that they are not.

PS This didn't quite come out the way I meant, but hopefully you will know what I mean.

Pleased I am not the only one who is puzzled. As a fully paid up ostrich or maybe coward, I tend not to post on threads which are getting heated. GN is such a godsend for those of us who are isolated for whatever reason and it is a shame if it is being misused and people are getting upset. [head below the parapet emoticon]

To Nonnie and others that might be a tad confuddled, at the risk of confounding your confuddlement, it's no big thing,(don't feed the beast!) and may have actually sorted itself by now! smile

Unless they are using a new computer/laptop, doesn't their IP address show when they register? I thought it did so it would be fairly easy for HQ to know if it was the same person or not.

Maybe we're not confused, maybe we just take things more at face value grin

When I first came on here not that long ago, some people thought I was another person altogether, it confused me because I thought I was me.I have now accepted that I may in fact be someone else entirely.Am I living their life or are they living mine?We may never know.

rosequartz Mon 15-Sept-14 16:55:34

You're not me, are you roses
Or am I you? confused
Is it us (we?) getting confused or them others?

I did offer to change my name

rosesarered Mon 15-Sept-14 17:00:04

grin no don't change names, we roses must stick together. It's all the thorns I worry about, though.

rosequartz Mon 15-Sept-14 17:01:12

grin

Ana Mon 15-Sept-14 17:11:34

Roses don't have thorns, they have prickles, so as long as neither of you is prickly things should be all right! grin

Like that idea HollyDaze! Simple and straightforward. ( Or maybe I am just simple) [Barnaby Rudge emoticon] grin

HollyDaze Mon 15-Sept-14 19:05:17

Simple and straightforward

You can't beat it Purpledaffodil grin

rosequartz Mon 15-Sept-14 19:45:23

I can be very prickly when I choose to be, Ana.
Just ask DH!

I too love simple and straight forward, well, at least most of the time, but as referred to in my OP, there are some about who seem to operate under different standards.

As sort of mentioned before, I feel that I can't go into details, as they would no doubt be deleted (and probably quite rightly), but I think there are three or four of us who would not have a problem with the odd PM request.

Is it really worth carrying this on, phoenix? grin
Might be time to let it drop...

HollyDaze Tue 16-Sept-14 10:54:15

If I understand phoenix's last paragraph, I think she has a point!
