Would you please tell us whether we are allowed to discuss the Prince Andrew business currently in the news on tv, radio, online, and all over the newspapers? I know one thread has been deleted. Does this mean the subject is completely out of bounds on GN?

The sooner it comes, the sooner it will be over with.

I was all up for them doing it asap but I have to wait another week #owowow

whitewave Mon 05-Jan-15 15:53:44

I am sure there must be worse pain but honestly I do feel for you - I was climbing the wall and had very little sleep, the amount of painkillers and antibiotics I took was horrendous.

Poor you shock

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 05-Jan-15 15:57:25

Yes. I expect you have to wait for the infection to go down.

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 05-Jan-15 15:58:29

Yes there is def worse pain - but there is something about toothache that takes over everything. It's not so bad now they have released the pressure (won't go into the dozen injections which didn't work so when they drilled they then had to peel me off the ceiling) but it feels like I've done ten rounds with Tyson and is bad at night so not really looking forward to another week of it. You are right that the lack of sleep really doesn't help

Tell it like it is, whitewave, don't hold back...confused

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 05-Jan-15 15:59:24

Jings - have to wait because has to be done under sedation as injections don't work on me (no one quite sure why) and there are no slots this week

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 05-Jan-15 16:00:02

She was bang on! You can see the footprints on my walls too grin

loopylou Mon 05-Jan-15 16:03:02

OMG Cari, a fellow sufferer......... Many commiserations, hopefully my next 'round' will be under sedation after last visit - I didn't know I was local anaesthetic resistant until then [sick]

Ana Mon 05-Jan-15 16:04:45

This thread should come with a dentalphobe warning! shock

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 05-Jan-15 16:05:27

It was so bad I actually felt for the dentist who had to do what he had to do but knew every time he did it I was in agony. He's so nice too.

As for the next lot - we should start a support group. (I need it!!)

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 05-Jan-15 16:06:03

oops Ana yes!!

Sounds as if I was lucky when I had all my wisdom teeth out then, one side first and then the other a few months later. There was nothing wrong with them except that they were coming in sideways like the proverbial train on platforms one, two, three and four....

Dentist two had to saw one in half to get it out. The reverberations from the saw (tiny circular thing) were weird. Do I mean reverberations? Sure you all get the idea anyhow! That and the amount of force needed to pull them. Fortunately local anaesthetic did work on me and my GP gave me painkillers for when that wore off. It did rather feel as if one had been battered about the head!!

Hope it goes well, cari, and I'm sorry you have to wait so long

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 05-Jan-15 16:58:07

My dentist said local anaesthetics don't work whilst there is infection there. She had to put the needle right down the side of the tooth. It worked then.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 05-Jan-15 16:58:28

You ok Cari?

loopylou Mon 05-Jan-15 16:59:12

Def need support club.......with a health warning for those of a squeamish disposition grin!

rosequartz Mon 05-Jan-15 17:14:32

This thread has put me right off making the dental appointment I need to make .....

loopylou Mon 05-Jan-15 17:15:56

Sorry.......

Ana Mon 05-Jan-15 17:23:33

Me too, rosequartz - what with this and the Dentist thread...!shock

rosequartz Mon 05-Jan-15 17:28:35

We changed dentists and I haven't been to the new practice yet - fear of the unknown added into the equation (plus a tooth chipped over Christmas, another one breaking up aargh!)
