I would like some advice please.

On some threads, I am asked question after question after question etc[plus a couple of not so nice comments] about what I have posted.

At what point should I refuse to answer any more posts, even if they are incorrect about me or someone has got the wrong end of the stick about something I have posted.

I know I dont have to answer, but I dont like misconceptions about what I have posted. Plus no matter how many posts I answer, there are still more questions. I am actually quite happy to answer them. But is that ok with gransnet ok?
[Any bad feeling on a thread about me,I can more than deal with and I dont have a problem with]

I think this happens to other posters as well, but maybe they dont have quite as many questions asked of them as I do.

Why?

Iam64 Sat 30-May-15 15:09:52

wink

janeainsworth Sat 30-May-15 15:20:15

Do you want the 10-minute argument or the full half-hour Galen? wink

durhamjen Sat 30-May-15 16:04:43

Why not?

Galen Sat 30-May-15 16:13:43

Half hour please! Double spaced and submitted in triplicate of course!

janeainsworth Sat 30-May-15 16:25:14

Right. There is increasing evidence that maintaining a positive outlook is beneficial to health.

Furthermore, the powers of suggestibility are such that if you exhort someone to have a great day, it is more likely than not, that they will.

Therefore, suggesting on GN that everyone have a great day will, in some cases, have a beneficial effect and spreads a little kindness.

So there [sticky out tongue emoticon]

Minibags has purple hair. All of it, not just dioped like last time.

thatbags Sat 30-May-15 16:34:10

dioped?! dipped

loopylou Sat 30-May-15 16:40:02

Good for her thatbags!
I followed a young girl with rainbow striped long hair in Bath this morning, very striking!

Iam64 Sat 30-May-15 16:40:41

One of mine had blue hair for a while, whole head. My hippy cousin then aged 50 said in his slow, hippy dopey voice (despite not having smoked any for over 20 years, he never lost that ability to sound totally stoned ) neee'r mind, it don't ma'''er" -
I wish I could say she grew out of it but she didn't'…...

janeainsworth Sat 30-May-15 16:50:05

Oh go on, Bags.
Tell us what you said.
Or perhaps more interestingly, what mrBags said grin

durhamjen Sat 30-May-15 16:50:12

Did it really take you half an hour to type that, janea?

janeainsworth Sat 30-May-15 16:53:52

Of course not jen.
I was allowing time for other people to present an opposing argument, for example that wishing people a great day might have a counter-effect and make them feel worse!

durhamjen Sat 30-May-15 17:01:18

You have to be careful with that one, jane. Once, a couple of months after my husband had died, I was walking up the hill after taking the grandchildren to school and a man who was walking with me said what a lovely day it was. I burst into tears. Poor man did not know what he'd said.
I do not quite do that now, but he's careful what he says in Spring.

Galen Sat 30-May-15 17:13:41

Quite!

grannyactivist Sat 30-May-15 17:16:22

Good for minibags. My youngest son once asked me if he could dye his hair blue - I think he was just testing out my response. The deal we agreed was that he could do so as soon as the long summer school holiday began and it must be back to his normal colour for the school start again in September. I quite liked his blue hair, but was equally glad to see his own colour re-emerge at the end of the summer. smile

Ana Sat 30-May-15 17:19:28

Wouldn't bleach have to be part of the colouring process, though? It could take a looong time to grow out!

grannyactivist Sat 30-May-15 17:36:59

No bleach Ana - there are lots of modern hair dyes now that are 'semi-permanent' and wash out after several washes/weeks.

thatbags Sat 30-May-15 17:42:24

The process used on Minibags's hair didn't involve bleach either. In fact the hairdresser said it was better to avoid that. Minibags's hair is dark so if was bleached first, they'd have to redo the roots every two or three weeks. Apart from it costing a fortune, it wouldn't be as nice. It's quite a dark purple and she will go to school with purple hair for the last few weeks of term.

I'm really impressed with the hairdresser, actually. She really knows her stuff and I trust her not to advise anything silly.

DS went through a Goth phase and dyed his hair black while we were out. (he was blond) That night I went to collect him from a friend's party and parked at the end of their drive as usual. I couldn't see him coming but there was a funny white round thing bobbing along in the dark. It was quite scary.....It turned out to be his face!!

Envious Sat 30-May-15 17:53:31

We talking hair dye now? I have a question! smile

thatbags Sat 30-May-15 17:58:05

Go on, envious!.... (not that I'll be able to answer it).

loopylou Sat 30-May-15 18:00:26

When DS and his best friend left school they bleached friend's hair.....and DS's eyebrows. As DS was very dark haired it looked decidedly odd, to say the least. Clearly they just thought they use bleach without any neutraliser so friend's hair and DS's eyebrows were an odd shade of orangey yellow grin

Katek Sat 30-May-15 18:08:26

Ethel....is that you home? Have I missed the notice of your return to the forum? Hope you're feeling well smile

Envious Sat 30-May-15 18:18:55

I tried frosting my hair as I was turning grey/ white. Even the bleach wouldn't effect my grey/white hair. I guess my only choice is to pick a dark colour? I tried temp.colour..the grey would always take colour differently. Luckily my hair has changed slowly to white around my face mixed with my brown and doesn't look to bad like it first did. At first in pics I looked like I didn't have much hair where the white was coming in! confused
