You warned me that the next time I was reported you would bar me. I have just had a post deleted.

Time to click?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 09:54:21

grin

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 09:58:05

I'm gonna (try to) stay off for the rest of the day too, as the family's coming Sunday and I've got to actually do things! shock

Charleygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 11:22:23

Thanks Anya

There are quite a few trigger happy folk around.

Ana Fri 09-Sept-16 11:31:17

What I found ironic was that that jingl's post containing a rude word remains intact! Obviously the nameless reporter/s don't mind swear words, but object to home truths...hmm

wot Fri 09-Sept-16 12:06:22

I try to stay off but I'm too addicted!

ffinnochio Fri 09-Sept-16 12:27:54

Just caught up with this.

To my mind, this brouhaha smacks of J being scapegoated. I'd like to know what purpose its would serve GNHQ to ban her.

jollyg Fri 09-Sept-16 12:43:29

Perhaps if GNHQ gets steamed up about a post, they should LISTEN to the members who constantly deplore the lack of an edit button, and say so.

That would be a good use of their time instead being picky.

GN are between a rock and a hard place. Personally I am happy with the level of moderation that occurs. I think they get the balance right.

It seems to me that in this particular instance, provocation occured?

And were GN a little bit sneaky waiting a bit until they deleted her, hoping posters wouldnt notice?

glassortwo Thu 29-Sept-16 08:54:30

Sorry just found this thread, but need to read it.
I have had a grumble in the birthday thread.

glassortwo Thu 29-Sept-16 09:04:53

Well I stand by my comments on the birthday thread.

obieone Thu 29-Sept-16 09:09:07

GN could ban posters for 2 weeks or 1 month.
Long enough for posters to give up on GN, or come back as new reformed character?! wink

obieone Thu 29-Sept-16 09:10:39

[crumbs, realises that there are more connotations to my post than I intended] blush

seacliff Thu 29-Sept-16 09:12:51

Really not sure what on earth is going on now! ! I like many have had the odd "spat" with Jingle, but we are all adults here, and can avoid the more contentious threads if we choose. Reporting someone should be a very rare thing, a last resort. Was she banned just because someone reported her? Has she really done something SO terrible? It's like being back at school here sometimes.

There were recently 2 newish posters who I thought were MUCH more deserving of being banned.

It would be good to know whats happened from the horses mouth, instead of all the speculation.

kittylester Thu 29-Sept-16 09:14:45

I so agree, seacliff.

Alima Thu 29-Sept-16 09:20:57

And me. (We do so need a "like" button!)

mcem Thu 29-Sept-16 09:28:58

jollyg I just posted a similar comment on the birthday threat.
It really seems that GNHQ's approach is out of step with the views of the membership and that discussion and clarification of these nebulous guidelines are needed.
Is this or isn't it an appropriate place for the nannying philosophy displayed by GNHQ??

whitewave Thu 29-Sept-16 09:35:26

What I find difficulty in understanding is that some posters clearly come on simply to push one agenda from whatever source. We saw that particularly in the lead up to the referendum. Those are the sort of people that should be banned. GN is quick enough to act if they think their revenue is under threat.

There are a lot of questions piling up HQ have the courage of jing and answer them, by taking part in some sort of discussion with the members. Democracy forever!!!!!!

glassortwo Thu 29-Sept-16 09:37:03

Well said.

gillybob Thu 29-Sept-16 09:37:44

Perhaps GNHQ think that we are all a little to frail and delicate for jings often strong opinions?

Please, if you are reading this HQ

whitewave Thu 29-Sept-16 09:40:13

Perhaps we all ought to leave en mass and trot over to mumsnt where they seem to treat the daughters as more grownup than they treat the mothers on this site!?

Lona Thu 29-Sept-16 09:44:50

GNHQ don't seem to be too bothered about this burgeoning revolution.

Lona Thu 29-Sept-16 09:45:57

Perhaps we should ALL refuse to post for 24 hours in protest.hmm

DaphneBroon Thu 29-Sept-16 09:56:11

All due respect lona but isn't this a bit of a storm in a teacup?
We don't know why Jingl may or may not have been banned. Given the gentle level of moderation I would assume this is not something GNHQ takes lightly. So far it is just so much conjecture.
Also a thread about a thread, Chinese whispers, a mountain out of a molehill.
There are worse things happening out there in RL and if a member chooses to move on or is asked not to insult others with comments like "Saint Soop" or "Saint Tegan" to tone down their comments, so be it.
You may wish to stage a 24-hour strike, but in the overall scheme of things, aren't there more important issues?

harrigran Thu 29-Sept-16 10:04:54

I think 24 hours without anyone posting might surprise HQ, I am up for it.

Ana Thu 29-Sept-16 10:05:13

It isn't just Chinese whispers, Daphne, jingl told thatbags on Twitter that she's been banned.
