You warned me that the next time I was reported you would bar me. I have just had a post deleted.

Time to click?

Lona Thu 29-Sept-16 10:09:07

I was unclear Daphne, I wasn't just referring to Jings being banned, it's the fact that free speech seems to be frowned on here.

MiniMouse Thu 29-Sept-16 10:14:25

We all know that GN isn't RL, but I am sure that there are members on here for whom GN is part of their RL. What I mean is, GN is an outlet for them, which they can't have in RL. Yes, sometimes comments, from any GNetters, can be a bit near the mark, but most of us know that in jingl's case, it's just jingl being jingl and accept her for who she is. IYSWIM

Oh Ana, but so being talked up!
So and so told so and so on FB/Twitter that he/she has been banned on GN/Mumsnet whatever.

If bags says she was in touch with jingl on twitter then you can be sure it is true.

DaphneBroon Thu 29-Sept-16 10:31:01

Not questioning anybody's word Harrigran

gettingonabit Thu 29-Sept-16 10:44:23

What's she been banned for? confused

NanaandGrampy Thu 29-Sept-16 11:21:16

But from the opening line of this thread Jings almost taunted GNHQ to ban her....be careful what you wish for I say.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:28:11

I have been searching for Jings on Twitter for quite a while off and on. I never found her but she knew my Twitter "handle" (it's no secret that it's "baggythecrust") and directed a tweet to me that informed me she'd been banned from posting on GN.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:29:57

The bit about so and so getting in touch with so and so.... suggests doubt db.

But I see our later posts have crossed so all is clarified.

Nelliemoser Thu 29-Sept-16 11:31:08

Oh FFS here we go again. How many times do we have to go through the same old same old. Has whoever or hasn't whoever it was been banned.

We might just as well copy and paste the whole same thread each time. Get a life comes to mind.

Now there is something to wind people up. I have just told people whingeing away on this thread to get a life.

I suspect it might have been the "Saint Tegan" remark, goab.

This will probably be deleted if the Big Sisters see it. I don't think they like speculation like that.

gettingonabit Thu 29-Sept-16 11:35:38

Thanks, bags. I must be living in a parallel universe, then, because I have no idea why Tegan has been sainted, or indeed who Tegan is beyond a familiar-sounding posting name.

I don't know who the Big Sisters are either although it's probably best not to speculate...

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:37:47

Someone mentioned HQ people as Big Sisters recently, goab. It gave me a chuckle.

Tegan Thu 29-Sept-16 11:54:16

Is that an accusation that I reported the comment about me?If it is I can categorically state that I didn't report it and am deeply offended by the implication. And hurt an might add.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:55:54

No implication intended, tegan. I think I was mistaken anyway because it hasn't been deleted. I'm probably muddling up more than one thread. Again!

Tegan Thu 29-Sept-16 11:57:45

Maybe people could think before they post sometimes or realise that what they say might hurt people. I'm down enough at this moment in time without this.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:57:54

The implication I was making is that I think it was an unkind comment.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 11:59:32

I do think and I do realise that things I say might sometimes upset people. I don't have total control over that as people can be upset or take offence (and they do) in all sorts of places where it isn't intended.

thatbags Thu 29-Sept-16 12:00:09

So there you have a classic example of something being totally misunderstood.

Jalima Thu 29-Sept-16 12:18:13

I didn't see an accusation or even an implication in thatbags' post though, Tegan.

I'm sorry you're feeling down at the moment and hope things get better soon, perhaps something we may brush off normally may upset us more than usual, especially if we dare venture on to the more contentious threads.

Elegran Thu 29-Sept-16 12:35:22

Just wait until this time tomorrow, Tegan You will be thoroughly exhausted (with half the days tramping uphill still to come), and the physical activity will have put paid to your feeling down.(You might be feeling miserable again over your aching feet, but that it life.

Jalima Thu 29-Sept-16 12:48:21

Swimming in freezing cold water helps - apparently! - according to that recent programme on BBC1 with Dr Chris Wotisname
(Don't blame me if your extremities turn blue!)

mcem Thu 29-Sept-16 13:02:47

I'm with luckygirl that this should not be seen as yet another thread begging for jingl's return. However I do object to the arbitrary application of the rules with which many of us disagree. Time for a more open discussion of those rules, taking note of the opinions of site users.

mcem Thu 29-Sept-16 13:05:30

Sorry jollyg meant to include you in that post!

obieone Thu 29-Sept-16 13:08:19

I too think that, but I guess that GN dont "know" the posters that well so it would get a bit tricky.
