I was unclear Daphne, I wasn't just referring to Jings being banned, it's the fact that free speech seems to be frowned on here.

We all know that GN isn't RL, but I am sure that there are members on here for whom GN is part of their RL. What I mean is, GN is an outlet for them, which they can't have in RL. Yes, sometimes comments, from any GNetters, can be a bit near the mark, but most of us know that in jingl's case, it's just jingl being jingl and accept her for who she is. IYSWIM

I have been searching for Jings on Twitter for quite a while off and on. I never found her but she knew my Twitter "handle" (it's no secret that it's "baggythecrust") and directed a tweet to me that informed me she'd been banned from posting on GN.

The bit about so and so getting in touch with so and so.... suggests doubt db.

But I see our later posts have crossed so all is clarified.

Oh FFS here we go again. How many times do we have to go through the same old same old. Has whoever or hasn't whoever it was been banned.

Maybe people could think before they post sometimes or realise that what they say might hurt people. I'm down enough at this moment in time without this.

The implication I was making is that I think it was an unkind comment.

I do think and I do realise that things I say might sometimes upset people. I don't have total control over that as people can be upset or take offence (and they do) in all sorts of places where it isn't intended.

So there you have a classic example of something being totally misunderstood.

I'm with luckygirl that this should not be seen as yet another thread begging for jingl's return. However I do object to the arbitrary application of the rules with which many of us disagree. Time for a more open discussion of those rules, taking note of the opinions of site users.
