Three small symbolic tatoos but only one generally visible to others. I hate the 'full sleeve' type or whole back type though, or any large ones at all!

1 tattoo, done last year for my 65th birthday, no regrets at all ☺

Teetime Fri 10-Nov-17 09:21:19

Me too Satan will have a bobsleigh before I get one. Ugly things!

mumofmadboys Fri 10-Nov-17 07:29:42

I hate them all with a passion!

Swanny Thu 09-Nov-17 22:56:10

My earlier post should have read my best friend's GRANDfather ...

ninathenana Thu 09-Nov-17 22:42:10

I haven't.
Some small descret ones look ok on others but some I've seen on line, I just wonder, why? A multi coloured disney castle covering a whole thigh springs to mind.

NanKate Thu 09-Nov-17 22:23:58

Not in a month of Sundays. Tacky and horrible. ?

mcem Thu 09-Nov-17 21:21:17

Loathe them!

lemongrove Thu 09-Nov-17 20:53:56

No, not a fan of them, but understand that some people like them,( each to their own.)

rockgran Thu 09-Nov-17 20:31:27

My motto is - No pain - NO PAIN! Also I think they look horrid.

M0nica Thu 09-Nov-17 19:39:12

No, never. Thankfully no one of any generation in my family likes them.

Alima Thu 09-Nov-17 18:23:01

No, awful things on men and women.

mimiro Thu 09-Nov-17 17:55:27

annie i have designed some for exactly that reason//oh and 84 yr old mom has 3/husband has full"shirt"have earlobs done as well a star on one and a rose on the other/set so earring is in middle of design
btw new tattoos should not be blueish or greenish bad choice of ink or very old tattoos.colors and black should be crisp and sharp
and if done well should not hurt too much,or scab up if aftercare is done properly.

annie1948 Thu 09-Nov-17 17:45:23

No I probably would not but sometimes when I hear of a woman perhaps a bit like me,getting a discreet one that only she can see I understand, it’s a bit like wearing red frilly knickers, when you look the type that wear full size white cotton !!

Chewbacca Thu 09-Nov-17 17:40:23

Not for me thank you but each to their own.

mimiro Thu 09-Nov-17 17:32:15

12 and love them

Ruby21 Thu 09-Nov-17 17:26:36

No
I hate them

harrigran Thu 09-Nov-17 17:26:27

No, absolutely not. Tramp stamp is a polite way of saying what I feel about tattoos. Proud to say that not one of my family felt the need to deface their body.

downtoearth Thu 09-Nov-17 17:23:47

I have two one on my shoulder of a butterfly...and one of shooting stars on my upper back bearing the names of my children all tasteful and discreet

Swanny Thu 09-Nov-17 16:36:14

I remember meeting my best friend's father when he was about 75, back in the 60's. He joined the army when he was 19 and was (very) highly decorated before being medically discharged in 1918. As a young man he'd had a tattoo on his arm. I can still see that arm now, once strong and muscly but by then not much more than skin and bone, with the tattoo faded, indistinguishable from the veins under the skin, which was sagging between the bones. It put me off tattoos for life.

Leticia Thu 09-Nov-17 16:35:55

Hell woukd freeze over before I got one!

Welshwife Thu 09-Nov-17 16:34:45

I too am in the no camp - no desire for one at all.

grannyactivist Thu 09-Nov-17 16:11:55

Sorry, I'm in the camp of 'hell would have to freeze over' before I got a tattoo. I get why someone might like a small, discreet something, but it's not for me. Thankfully only one of my children got one (it's on her foot) and she did have a particular reason so I tried to be understanding, but she very quickly came to regret it and has since had it lasered off at great expense.

Another day, another poll... This time it's a bit more light-hearted, though. Inspired by your recent thread on the subject, we'd like to know if you have any tattoos? Or if you have one you regret? Or maybe the chances of you walking into a tattoo parlour are about the same as those of hell freezing over!! grin

Either way, we'd like to know here (if you care to share!): www.gransnet.com/online-surveys-product-tests/over-50s-tattoos
