Another poll! Do you have a tattoo?

Sorry, I'm in the camp of 'hell would have to freeze over' before I got a tattoo. I get why someone might like a small, discreet something, but it's not for me. Thankfully only one of my children got one (it's on her foot) and she did have a particular reason so I tried to be understanding, but she very quickly came to regret it and has since had it lasered off at great expense.

I too am in the no camp - no desire for one at all.

I remember meeting my best friend's father when he was about 75, back in the 60's. He joined the army when he was 19 and was (very) highly decorated before being medically discharged in 1918. As a young man he'd had a tattoo on his arm. I can still see that arm now, once strong and muscly but by then not much more than skin and bone, with the tattoo faded, indistinguishable from the veins under the skin, which was sagging between the bones. It put me off tattoos for life.

I have two one on my shoulder of a butterfly...and one of shooting stars on my upper back bearing the names of my children all tasteful and discreet

No, absolutely not. Tramp stamp is a polite way of saying what I feel about tattoos. Proud to say that not one of my family felt the need to deface their body.

No I probably would not but sometimes when I hear of a woman perhaps a bit like me,getting a discreet one that only she can see I understand, it’s a bit like wearing red frilly knickers, when you look the type that wear full size white cotton !!

annie i have designed some for exactly that reason//oh and 84 yr old mom has 3/husband has full"shirt"have earlobs done as well a star on one and a rose on the other/set so earring is in middle of design
btw new tattoos should not be blueish or greenish bad choice of ink or very old tattoos.colors and black should be crisp and sharp
and if done well should not hurt too much,or scab up if aftercare is done properly.

Some small descret ones look ok on others but some I've seen on line, I just wonder, why? A multi coloured disney castle covering a whole thigh springs to mind.

1 tattoo, done last year for my 65th birthday, no regrets at all ☺

Three small symbolic tatoos but only one generally visible to others. I hate the 'full sleeve' type or whole back type though, or any large ones at all!

Myself and my 2 DDs went together and had matching ones on the top of our right foot. It was at a time when we were living in different towns and didn’t see each other as much as we’d have liked so we did it to celebrate our bond. They’ve gone on to have others but I’m happy with just the one.
