bohemian many posts are read but directly responded to but it doesn't mean that you're being ignored. I can count on one hand the number of times that I've received a direct response to any of my posts, but I don't believe it's because they're being deliberately overlooked or ignored. Sometimes, a conversation is just moving so fast that it's difficult to respond to one particular post before the conversation has moved on. Please don't take it personally.

boheminan I don't think posts are deliberately ignored. I often find my posts aren't replied to or mentioned by others - I don't take it personally. Have a rest and come back refreshed

Natasha it shouldn't take a whole series of individual protests to alert HQ to the fact that there is a real issue to addressed - preferably openly and together.
I know policy dictates that we should be fobbed off answered one by one but we really are fed up of the stock replies. Dealing with it/ breaching guidelines etc!
New Year's weekend isn't the issue.
Neither is it about tolerating differing points of view.
These guidelines need to be reviewed.
If you can't deal effectively with trolls and nuisance posters then stop tyng the hands of concerned posters who choose to out them.

It is hard as a newbie, no different to joining any group, you’re on the outside looking in, like any new girl you’re trying to fit in! I’ve been reluctant in the last few days to post at all lest anything is taken the wrong way or I fall foul of one of the two or three we all wish would push off.

Disappointing to see GNHQ deleting posts from decent folk and letting troublemakers run riot.

Maybe my post will be deleted too, perhaps no one is allowed to criticise the troublemakers?

Gonegirl as one who responded to a "spoof' distress post which was immediately explained (so that I saw I'd momentarily got the wrong end of the stick) I have to say that it never crossed my mind that there was any element of bullying!!

Please correct me if I am wrong GNHQ but my understanding is that you will listen to an individual complaint sent via the "Report" button but will not take note of a collective complaint posted on the forum?

When posters 'pretend' to be upset and "crying", THAT is bullying. Of the worst kind.

If you are referring to my post to Jane10 then you have totally misunderstood Gonegirl.

Perhaps when you have been on here a little longer then you may be able to differentiate between a little gentle teasing, leg-pulling and real bullying.

I was not mocking Jane10 in any way and I am sure that she knows that.

However, I can tell when posters are aggressive or out to cause trouble.

In fact, Jane was replying to my post just above hers, not to any of Poppy's. It was just as much a light-hearted joke as the OP.

Perhaps knowing Jane as a regular poster with a dry sense of humour, made it easy for some posters to realise that her comment was tongue in cheek.

This thread is getting ridiculous now, with posters trying to get the last word in.

Why don't we just accept that we have different interpretations of posts, respond civilly and let it go!

I have reported three threads this weekend which were all heading down the bog very quickly but only got a stock answer of “we think it’s genuine but we will keep an eye on it” Well if the ones I reported are genuine I ll eat my hat they stick out like a sore thumb

To the poster who said they felt ignored it happens to us all I felt invisible for a long time as I m just of average intelligence and rarely think of all the funny quick witted quips that some posters can but we re all here and need to keep our cool together, amongst this influx of stirrers

Jalima1108 thank you. You have just proved the point I was trying to make earlier, but obviously put so badly it was misinterpreted.

When i said you 'know' each other, the rhythm of speech etc., this is exactly what I meant.

For anyone coming in from the outside, who does not immediately recognise this, it can honestly feel as though there is a clique within GN.

I KNOW there is not, so please dont shout at me, I am trying to explain how it feels to start posting here.
Another thread about a husband home for 2 weeks is a case in point. I 'got' it immediately, and was about to commiserate in a joking way and suggest silly methods of getting the house to herself.
But the thread took a nasty turn, and so i retreated.
I know people have lost loved ones. I know how painful it is. But honestly, hand on heart, where does it end? Is there a list of subjects to never make light about?

I have already said i would go back to lurking rather than posting. I am not flouncing, I just dont feel comfortable. I just think this is a great forum, but everyone is getting their knickers in a twist and it is not a nice place to be at the moment.
