...can we swear before being branded "potty mouthed". Please.

kittylester Fri 22-Mar-19 18:16:07

You will get barred for all those rude words, chewbacca!

BlueBelle Fri 22-Mar-19 18:16:29

Oh poor David ... there’s nothing like a good old swear word a lot start with b don’t they ? We could go on the games thread and start an abc of swear words ( not the really really bad ones of course)

watermeadow Fri 22-Mar-19 18:26:07

I swear quite a lot but do object to ignoramuses who put the f word before every other word.
I also object to the ghastly Americanism “potty mouth.” I don’t mind encouraging my dog by calling “Wee wee, Polly, poo poo!” but Americans call, “Go potty!” to their dogs.

Rachel711 Fri 22-Mar-19 18:35:12

That's excellent Chewbacca, I really enjoyed that! We used to have an LP of Flanders and Swan- they were very witty. I especially liked the one about the 97 horsepower omnibus.
I'd never heard pee po belly bum drawers before though. I'll show it to my grandchildren!

phoenix Fri 22-Mar-19 18:37:27

Thanks chewbacca!

My go-to string of expletives (when just one won't do) is:

Shit bugger arsehole, bugger wank poo.

It's not often that I have to deploy it, but when I do, I find it strangely satisfying!

Wheniwasyourage Fri 22-Mar-19 18:42:46

Of course Chewbacca won't be barred - that was ART!

Surely Davidhs wasn't serious - I thought it must be a joke anyway.

Quite agree watermeadow (what a nice name by the way) about the horrible expression "potty-mouthed". It's just as bad as swearing IMO.

Gonegirl Fri 22-Mar-19 19:06:30

That song is truly rude. shock [shock shock

The winner of today's Potty Mouth Award is...... Phoenix!

Her fault if this thread gets deleted. hmm

Gonegirl Fri 22-Mar-19 19:06:53

wink

phoenix Fri 22-Mar-19 19:19:51

blush

But I may have redeemed myself on another thread (polishes halo) really evil grin

Gonegirl Fri 22-Mar-19 19:25:03

Don't mention another thread!!!!!

phoenix Fri 22-Mar-19 19:33:13

shock

Alima Fri 22-Mar-19 19:42:00

That’s this thread fucked now.

phoenix Fri 22-Mar-19 20:03:20

Ah, but Alimah is it fucked, or bollocksed?

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Mar-19 20:08:14

nice women don’t swear
what about nice men?
DH swore twice today, once because he dropped something and once because someone started reversing as we were trying to exit a car park.
Basically, he's "quite nice!!

My pc crashed today and I told it that it was a 'fucking waste of money and was going back to bloody John Lewis' smile

And anyway, bloody is not swearing unless it's spelt 'bluddy'. I was told that when I was 7 by John.

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Mar-19 20:10:26

Depends if its singular or pair I'd imagine.
Surely just one is a bollock?

So, if someone gets 'a bollocking' is that just with one bollock or both?

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Mar-19 20:13:41

I used to use sugar as an expletive - it is a satisfying mix of bugger and shit.

Alima Fri 22-Mar-19 20:39:37

Straight over ‘er ‘ead. Whoosh.

Anja Fri 22-Mar-19 21:01:45

I quite like follucks!

Nico97 Fri 22-Mar-19 21:04:44

Phoenix your list of go to expletives reminded me of this very old rhyme:
Shit bugger arsehole piss cock fart
Somebody's stole me horse and cart
I don't give a bugger, I'll soon get another
Shit bugger arsehole piss cock fart !
grin grin

merlotgran Fri 22-Mar-19 21:07:30

I'm sure I've posted this before but nobody swears more than a fenland tractor driver.

When DH took over as farm manager I answered the door to a furious, red faced man who waved an unidentifiable piece of equipment in my face yelling, 'He'll have to get another fucker coz this fucking fucker's fucked!' grin

I soon got used to the vernacular.

Littleannie Fri 22-Mar-19 21:08:48

Alima and Phoenix
I really can't believe that you find the f word acceptable. I find it offensive, and I am sure many people on this site feel the same, but are probably scared to say so.

janeainsworth Fri 22-Mar-19 21:13:44

How many points for rude socks?

Gonegirl Fri 22-Mar-19 21:19:59

Why would they be scared littleannie?

Anything goes on this thread.

No one will get the least bit cross.

Chewbacca Fri 22-Mar-19 21:21:28

Did you know that the word "fuck" is derived from old English Law? It stands for "Fornication and Unlawful Carnal Knowledge"; hence FUCK.

Isn't Google a wonderful thing? grin

merlotgran Fri 22-Mar-19 21:22:57

Ooooh! Where can I get those socks, janea? grin

My adult DGSs would laugh their socks off if they saw me wearing those in the garden.
