I popped out to give the dog a quick walk and when I returned it was gone.

????

Smileless2012 Thu 11-Nov-21 17:10:11

Why have you introduced H's mental health Alegrias and M's role or not in that particular matter? No one has talked about it on this thread.

BlueBelle Thu 11-Nov-21 17:04:15

Go to work for the morning and miss everything
Ah well now I ll never know who did what who said what or why

Galaxy Thu 11-Nov-21 16:44:34

I think that was me. We look very similar.

JaneJudge Thu 11-Nov-21 16:07:46

Id this because she was papped on a bench eating a Big mac, washing it down with a bottle of malbec which she'd forgotten to put in the fridge for 30 minutes?

If so, disgraceful

Framilode

There are two long threads on Mumsnet on exactly the subject that was deleted here. The comments on their threads are far stronger than anything on here and yet they have not been deleted.
Why are we treated like children?

I doubt that the whole thread needed deletion although I can't judge as I didn't see it.
If some posts were libellous, racist, personal attacks on other posters or otherwise again GN rules then why was not just the particular post deleted?

Why are we treated like children? Why indeed, Framilode?
Because we don't know our place.

(In the rocking chair with the knitting or crochet which is where we belong.)

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 15:57:33

And blame his wife for causing them?

Is that OK? (clue - no its not)

So those who are complaining about how their entirely impartial discussion on the news topics of the day have been deleted; think on.

eazybee Thu 11-Nov-21 15:54:45

As the thread has been deleted I have no idea who made that allegation although I saw it. This is the problem with removing threads; comments are made but not addressed and suspicion is planted.
Harry has discussed his mental health problems openly therefore no reason not to discuss them.

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 15:31:57

And the assertion that she has caused Harry's mental health to deteriorate?

What's that if it's not scandalous rumour? Because unless someone is his psychiatrist, they don't know.

Ergo, gossip.

eazybee Thu 11-Nov-21 15:26:55

I do worry.
So many people don't seem to appreciate the difference between "disagreement" and "character assassination based on gossip.
Untrue. People are well aware of the difference between a disagreement and a character assassination based on gossip.
The facts concerning Meghan Markle are reported openly in the media and are verifiable; she has had to apologise to the Court of Appeal for misleading the Court, which has implications for the court ruling in her recent case against Associated Newspapers Ltd.
Not based on gossip but proven fact.

Well * Jane* I’ll continue to say what I think. Never thought she was sincere. More fool Harry.

Poor Meghan. All this cricism. She just forgot OK. It happens to us all.

She must have mislaid the copious notes she claimed to have made about everything when she was a working royal.

I was going to say nothing would surprise me.

The court case was discussed on The Jeremy Vine Show this morning, two panel members made bland comments about M M and Jeremy invited people to phone in and said he would be particularly interested to hear from those with positive comments, that’s when I switched off. I can tell you there are people who will go to great lengths to stop any negative comments about Meghan and Harry, several people have been banned from Twitter and other forums yet supporters of them get away with vindictive comments and even death threats, Camilla Tominey received them against her and her children. You would almost think these people are being paid (no comment). I could say a lot more but I know I have already said enough to get my comment deleted. Remember Prince Harry said the first amendment was bonkers, well he really meant it. I think I will give GransNet a miss from now on, I used to enjoy the discussions but I refuse to toe any party line about anything.

Good gracious me!
Just seen this thread, so the Meghan Markle one was deleted eh?
Well, one or two posters didn’t like it, that’s for sure.hmm
This thread will soon be deleted now as well.

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 14:30:21

Gosh, its almost as if someone was out to get them...

And for balance - The Express.

Good question Framilode I wonder if GNHQ would care to comment.

Mumsnet HQ have commented on at least one of those threads that they will delete it unless the tone changes.

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 14:23:55

Shall we have the "opinions versus fact" chat again grin.

Some opinions are bizarre but do no harm.

Some opinions contribute to a concerted hate campaign about people who have no impact whatsoever on the lives of anybody on this forum.

They are the worrying ones. IMO. But anyone is free to disagree wink

maddyone Thu 11-Nov-21 14:20:34

If I think a thread is very heated, I often read but don’t comment. I’m not a great fan of conflict.

maddyone Thu 11-Nov-21 14:18:26

I probably would be surprised then Alegrias.

maddyone Thu 11-Nov-21 14:17:36

Yes, you’re probably right Alegrias. I accept the rough with the smooth. Passing an opinion is what Gransnet is all about. People pass opinions, I might agree or I might disagree. I might think some comments are disgraceful but I wouldn’t bother to report them.

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 14:15:25

You might be surprised at who the person was maddyone, maybe you saw it though.

It wasn't a member of the RF.

Alegrias1 Thu 11-Nov-21 14:14:24

Thank you for replying maddyone.

OK then. Can't be bothered reporting things you think are disgraceful but happy to pass an opinion on GN's reaction to the reporting of people who can be bothered.
