Well I don’t know EV but surely a lifetime ban on gransnet is a ridiculous notion even if she did do something outrageous .....

GN HQ replied to me saying that they would discuss their decision (about EV) in the office over the next few days.

I reported my own post to them.

I don’t know this EV lady but it seems strange that someone so universally popular managed to get banned.
I’ve been banned from another website in the distant past because certain posters engineered it but to honest, it wasn’t the end of the world and I moved on. I hope this lady has done just that. Life’s too short to worry about being banned from a website.

Are there? There has occasional been general disapproval when someone writes something that is racist or cruel, or otherwise breaks the limits of acceptability and the political threads have a group who share political views and who I would describe as boring rather than a ganging up on those that oppose them.

I am simply shouting for the ridiculous ‘life time’ ban to be removed they have been rescinded for others so why not for this lady I don’t know anything about anything she said, but according to most posts on here, which I have read everyone seems puzzled by what ‘crime’ she has committed

Treat us as adults GN not naughty children I m sure EV hasn’t killed, maimed or derailed anyone she might at worst have offended someone so what! aren’t we big enough and old enough to handle our own affairs, if you really feel the need to intervene do it publicly so we all know what’s acceptable in your eyes and what’s not
That generic “you have broken guidelines” tells us NOTHING it’s flimsy and open to interpretant what offends you, may not offend me etc etc if it’s very bad, call the poster out by saying what is bad
Even a child never learns from punishment unless they and the rest of the class know what they are being punished for

I only ever came across EV on the GM thread but enjoyed reading her posts. I can’t imagine what she could have said or done that resulted in such a draconian response, but I would like to add my voice to the plea to let her come back. C’mon GNHQ; have a heart!
