Please GNHQ ... would you consider letting *EllanVannin* come back to this site?

I’m not sure I’ve ever crossed paths with EV but lifetime bans seem over the top unless someone is a serial offender. Aren’t we all grown ups here?

I remember the campaign in support of MawBe. Didn't work but she got back somehow a few months later.

Glad common sense prevailed in your case Charleygirl. Let’s hope the same applies to EV.

It happens in RL too and I don't ban people from my life because we think differently about something.

Although I don't know if I'm still on probation for arguing with GNHQ over another issue.

I know how I felt either last year or earlier this one when I was banned for at least 2 weeks and I became one of the Doghouse Grans.

Some people can be a bit trigger happy not thinking of what the consequences can be.

I also am on my own and for me it was a very miserable two weeks.

I too was shocked to hear of the life time ban. It seems so harsh.

Come on GNHQ do the decent thing and reinstate EV

A lifetime ban is not called for. I also support the plea for EV to be allowed to return.

I too miss EV. I don't know if I missed something but she never came across as bad person. I agree with so many on here. She should be allowed to return. A lifetime ban seems so harsh. It's almost Christmas. We have had a harsh couple of years. Please HQ look at the strength of feeling here and reverse your decision. The Spirit of Christmas would please so many and give EV a great start to the new year. I don't know what she said (and don't need to know) I do know kindness should be shown here. Please re consider. So many grans can't be wrong!

could gransnet at least tell us why she was banned, i don't mean in any great detail just the general jist.

Another vote here for Ellan to be allowed back on Gransnet. I miss her too.

To be fair it was only in response to me as far as I know and I am happy for her to come back.

I don't know anything about EV and was ready to support her return . Have seen now she was posting homophobic posts! I have thought long and hard about this and can probably forgive her due to her age .
However , had I read those homophobic comments I would have been extremely upset indeed!

Thanks for starting this, I completely agree, bring lovely EV back, she kind and caring, with a great sense of humour, and sadly missed.

I echo a request for EV to be allowed to return; especially as other posters who were banned for bullying and long standing poor behaviour have been allowed to return. EV may have had opinions that didn't always chime with others but, if that's the basis of being banned; there wouldn't be many of us left. If a ban can be lifted for some posters, it's only fair to let EV back.

Btw I certainly didn’t report her. I have never made a report apart from obvious spam.

I don’t think they read them regularly. As in reporting posts I think they may need to be alerted to this thread.

It seems strange that GNHQ have not responded to this thread. Are they all off on a Christmas jolly? I am another who thinks the ban is OTT. It's like giving someone a life sentence for speaking out of place ( and most of us don't even know what she is alleged to have said!)

I can only remember EV from her posts about her anxiety about the covid vaccine, and I support her being allowed to return. Whatever she said surely it wasn’t so terrible as to warrant a lifetime ban.

I joined GN in January and have read so much about EllanVannin. Here's hoping there will soon be a post from GNHQ commenting that they have read about all the support this lady has. Many miss her.

If there a kind spirit somewhere at HQ, please reinstate EllanVannin.

She reduced me to tears and caused me to leave GN for a period of time due to her homophobia but I still would agree to her coming back, especially if, as people say it is a source of support to her.

I’m late to this particular thread- but would also wish that EV was reinstated. As she’s 81 and living alone, I can’t understand why she was given a lifetime ban in the first place, for whatever it was she did, most probably unintentionally.
I’ve often thought of EV when Ive had crumpets for brekkie, and whenever my grand-daughter asks for a hot chocolate it triggers EV’s warm and friendly Good Morning posts. Let her back please.
PS please stop with the lifetime bans -we’re all grown ups and if someone posts something we disagree with we can give our opinion or just ignore, surely.
