Really riled about this. A poster started a thread earlier today about bossy pisters trying to control threads. A lot of other posters agreed and said they too had often been made to feel uncomfortable, belittled or jeered at by a minority of posters.

A couple of posters then came on accusing the OP of stirring it and saying people should Name names. Other pisters quite rightly pointed out that this was inappropriate and against rules. The thread was then abruptly zapped as 'not being in the spirit...'

Concerned, I started a thread wondering about the zapping and requesting an explanation. Again a majority of posters agreedand also asjed for an explanation. Again, a couple of posters came on saying they didn't like the original thread, and also objected to my thread.

Once again HQ zapped the thread with no proper explanation. What is going on here!

I’ve been fortunate then, on both counts wink

?

Yes!

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 15:52:14

Also too much alcohol!

bonbons01 Tue 22-Feb-22 14:51:39

Yes, German shepherds mum it is quite a common trigger, as is lack of sleep.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 14:51:02

It is indeed.

bonbons01 Tue 22-Feb-22 14:50:01

JaneJudge, no problem, I completely understand now. Services for epilepsy can be patchy everywhere but what your daughter has encountered is unacceptable. It's disgraceful!

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 14:49:15

Stress can certainly cause seizures. That much I know from personal experience.

JaneJudge Tue 22-Feb-22 14:41:19

If you are an epilepsy nurse or dr could you please set up a help page! We have never seen an epilepsy nurse in the whole time my daughter has had a seizure disorder nor a specialist Dr. We see a neurologist now via the video link to the hospital but it is all pretty inadequate, in my experience. As her Mum (and she doesn't live with me anymore) I am expected to know triggers, precursored behaviours, what the seizures look like, when her medication needs to be amended. There really needs to be more professional support.

I'm sorry I've offended you. This thread was quite tongue in cheek, from my perspective anyway. I had just taken that quote from wikipedia and was thoughtless.

That explains your statement, thank you, but doesn't make it accurate. Wikipedia is incorrect, William Morris' did not have seizures but his daughter did have epilepsy. Anger does not provoke a seizure.

It does in this household. Seizure / thrombo / hissy fit, the whole nine yards grin

bonbons01 Tue 22-Feb-22 14:36:05

Sorry German shepherds mum but that is what JaneJudge has said temper ... provoked seizures. I understand now, and thank you for clarifying JaneJudge, that you didn't mean that rage caused the seizures but rather the anger was a change in mood indicative. ie pre-ictal, of an imminent seizure.
I do know about epilepsy too, particularly left temporal lobe epilepsy.

JaneJudge Tue 22-Feb-22 14:22:59

My daughter has them, so only from the perspective of her seizures but hers are precursored by behaviours - some negative.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 14:19:31

Jane didn’t say they did. She meant they can be a warning sign of an upcoming seizure. Having had epilepsy for over 50 years I know a little about it.

bonbons01 Tue 22-Feb-22 14:16:07

What do you know about temporal lobe epilepsy?
Mood changes may occur but they do not provoke a seizure.

JaneJudge Tue 22-Feb-22 14:12:46

temporal lobe seizures can have a pre cursor of behavioural change prior to seizure

Google it. It is even on his wikipedia page

bonbons01 Tue 22-Feb-22 13:39:08

JaneJudge

William Morris had a temper so wild it provoked seizures

What evidence do you have for stating that?

Well what have I missed now?

Glad I’m not the only one who misses all the controversy.

?? and Calistemon Re: "Put it all back in the cupboard" - me too ? laugh out loud ?
Beswitched - Best wishes ?

I'm getting frustrated with DH - asking him for help or even just a decision on throwing out 'stuff' but getting nowhere.
It's stuff he's collected or inherited.
