Has anyone on GN got the right to give private information about you?

(593 Posts)

GNHQ have commented on this thread. Read here.

Surely not. People on GN should have the right to anonimity, unless they choose to divulge any private information, be it about profession, locality, ethnicity, or whatever.

Secondly, should any information given in a PM be fair game to share to other members? Surely not.

I must be missing what you’re seeing because I can’t see what’s upsetting you so much. Why are people ganging up and what are they doing to look bad? I genuinely can’t see what you believe they’re doing.

So gangsta

Hahaha. Still, better than miserable, boring little old ladies, crocheting doilies.

VioletSky Sun 18-Dec-22 19:02:18

I would not expect those who participate to see it

My inbox is a whole different story

Not that I am anyone's victim, that's just a tactic to get at me

I'm not bothered at all, I will point out a pile on whenever I see it even if it is one of the gang on the receiving end

It ruins the forum

tickingbird Sun 18-Dec-22 19:05:49

I wasn’t aware I was participating in a pile on; in fact I can categorically state I’m not.

I’ll leave you to it.

Iam64 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:15:07

What’s wrong or boring about crochet. What’s wrong with boring little old ladies?
Such a negative, nasty, cold, judgemental view of other women who don’t fit the exciting alternative gangsta view of others

Just a pile on really.

Cool guys rule, sort of thing🙄

It stands for Deny, Attack and Reverse Victim and Offender Lucca.

Oh - I thought it was Bobby, a comedian?

Or is that DAVRO?

I've taught myself to crochet during lockdown.

People and dogs seem to be very grateful for my efforts in this cold weather.

Although, having watched Gangsta Granny with a very young DGS, he said "She seems a bit like you, Granny" 😲
No, I've never been in the Tower of London, honest Guv!!

Oreo Sun 18-Dec-22 19:51:00

Am off to attend to me doilies 😄 have just spotted a fruit bowl that needs one underneath it, gasp!

VioletSky Sun 18-Dec-22 19:54:06

I'm off to play fortnite

When one of my AC makes me a nan I'm going to be a fun nan, if not a cool one

Smileless2012 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:54:15

Callistemongrin yes I think you're thinking of DAVRO but this thread has become rather comical hasn't it.

I thought the same as you Meryl hanging on by its finger tips which is why it made me think of the tree people.

You're not tickingbird because there isn't a pile on.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:55:02

I am constantly amazed at GN …

Callistemon21 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:55:14

Have you noticed that, if you try to post and someone posts a split second before, yours doesn't post?
(I blame you, Oreo)
My post was a very interesting one about dishcloths.

Iam64 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:55:50

I re-learned crochet to make blankets for the babies that started arriving 8 years ago. A friend helped me re-learn the skill. She’d come round, we’d sit together with s cuppa. I’d make baby blankets. She makes crochet or knitted knockers for women who had a mastectomy but not ready for a proper prosthetic.
Very gangsta

Be a Gangsta Gran, it's great!! 😂

Smileless2012 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:57:06

I've never noticed that Callistemon but don't be deterred, I'd love to see your interesting one about dishcloths. Didn't know they could be interesting so await with bated breathgrin.

What about Stick Man, Smileless?
I love Stick Man, he's my favourite.

Or the Magic Faraway Wood?

Iam64 Sun 18-Dec-22 19:57:55

Can dish cloths be made with crochet? Bet they can

Oreo Sun 18-Dec-22 19:58:12

Oh go on Callistemon let’s hear about your dishcloth, am dying to know, did you crochet it yourself?

Callistemon21 Sun 18-Dec-22 20:03:55

I haven't made one yet - does someone have a pattern please?
It shouldn't be too difficult, should it?
I am rather old, although.

I'm making cosy blankets 😁
The dog loves his.

Smileless2012 Sun 18-Dec-22 20:04:50

Oh yes, Stick Man certainly fits the picture Callistemon as does the Magic Faraway Wood, where you'd expect to see tree people and stick men.

Now you can see the interest in your dish cloth post so do tell us what it was about.

Iam64 Sun 18-Dec-22 20:05:45

I’ll have a pattern in my box to be sorted. Do you need a single or multi coloured pattern Callistemon

Callistemon21 Sun 18-Dec-22 20:06:21

VioletSky

Are you guys ever going to stop?

Strength in numbers?

You are only making yourselves look bad

Don't you like crocheting, Violetsky?
Serious question.

Retro is very 'in' at the moment.

I have some plain cream cotton yarn, left by a DD who bought it as a resource for school about 15 years ago 🤔
Perhaps she was going to teach children how to make dishcloths?
Or string pictures, who knows.

Iam64 has one, I think.

Next year's Christmas presents sorted 🙂
