Scrolling down the threads for discussions is now driving me nuts. It's nothing but Games, just spotted 8 discussion threads and 13 Games threads.

Please Gransnet, give the Games their own tab at the top. Surely Coronavirus is getting out of date. You could slot Games between Forums and Grandparenting.

Please get them off, there are so many they really are getting very annoying on a discussion forum and don't belong there.

I agree.

Fleurpepper Tue 21-Mar-23 16:48:54

yes

boheminan Tue 21-Mar-23 16:48:54

I agree too. The most I've counted so far is 25 games out of 50 threads

FishandChips15 Tue 21-Mar-23 16:51:00

Same here. Have a separate section please.

Coolgran65 Tue 21-Mar-23 16:51:05

I have been here a few years and have never looked at any of the games. However the fact that they are ongoing shows how popular they must be.
I agree perhaps having their own section would be a good idea.

They are taking over the discussion boards. I counted more games than discussions.

Oldbat1 Tue 21-Mar-23 16:54:25

I hide the games asap which is easy to do on the phone version but not so on the iPad. Used to drive me nuts.

tanith Tue 21-Mar-23 16:59:46

I hide them as soon as I spot them but a separate board would be better.

sodapop Tue 21-Mar-23 17:01:27

We have asked for this many times over the years but nothing changes. I just hide the games threads.

BlueBelle Tue 21-Mar-23 18:10:31

It’s not easy to do on the iPad they keep coming back I have 24 on my newsfeed it’s ultra annoying to say the least
As sodapop says we have asked for years for the games to be a separate forum but for some reason they have never accommodated us

Patsy70 Tue 21-Mar-23 18:45:08

I agree that it would be a good idea if Games had its own slot.

lemsip Tue 21-Mar-23 18:50:36

people are not posting enough regular discussion threads that's why people go to 'games' when not a lot to discuss!

mumofmadboys Tue 21-Mar-23 18:52:16

I agree move Games to separate place

SueDonim Tue 21-Mar-23 19:09:07

It’s easy to hide Games on my phone and iPad (for info, scroll down to the very bottom of the active Chat page and click on Mobile version. That then brings up a little downward arrow beneath the Inbox link on each thread. Click on it, find Hide Thread and click on that.)

It would be a whole lot easier if we didn’t have to do that in the first place, though! Surely it wouldn’t be difficult for GNHQ to form a separate Games area?

choughdancer Tue 21-Mar-23 19:28:07

I agree too

BlueBelle Tue 21-Mar-23 20:22:28

I do all that sueDonim but they come back

SueDonim Tue 21-Mar-23 21:02:32

That’s weird, Bluebell. They stay hidden for me although I have to re-do it when a new thread begins. I almost never logout of GN - is it something to do with logging in/out, do you think?

I agree.

And that is maybe why GN has not been keen to change things?

eazybee Tue 21-Mar-23 21:11:40

I never participate in Games but they are clearly popular and what posters want, so they shouldn't be removed.

BlueBelle Tue 21-Mar-23 21:12:22

No I never log out Sue
I ll try again when I’ve got time it s very time consuming doing them one by one

We are not suggesting they be removed. They should have their own tab.

The Games threads cannot be hidden on a computer and presumably not on a laptop either.

Chestnut Tue 21-Mar-23 23:30:53

I've just counted 37 active Games threads in the last day. That is ridiculous to have them mixed up with the discussions.

FannyCornforth Wed 22-Mar-23 05:55:58

Perhaps this might work.

Go from ‘desktop site’ and into ‘mobile site’ (do this at the very bottom of the page); hide all the threads that you want hidden;
and then revert back to ‘desk top site’.

I’m not sure if it would work, but you never know
