Having trouble posting a pic in Style and Beauty, so trying here with a pic of my newest great grandson, aged 3 months.

Hellogirl1 Mon 03-Jul-23 15:38:36

So, if that can work, why won`t my other pic load on the other thread? Maybe I`ll try it on here.
Nope, must be the pic it doesn`t like.

Well I reckon the little chap would be at home in Style and Beauty!

He's lovely smile

FannyCornforth Mon 03-Jul-23 15:42:01

Isn’t he!

Smileless2012 Mon 03-Jul-23 15:51:52

How cute is hesmile.

Norah Mon 03-Jul-23 15:57:33

It works fine.

Another bright Crape beginning to bloom.

AGAA4 Mon 03-Jul-23 15:57:59

What a lovely baby!

What a lovely babe Hellogirl ❤️. Are you able to see the other photo using preview? The only problem I’ve had has been with size. If a photo is too big I save it in a smaller format and that usually does the trick.

Hellogirl1 Mon 03-Jul-23 17:01:08

It won`t preview either. I thought that maybe as it`s taken from the company`s website, that`s why it won`t post, but I managed to post it on another forum.
I`m pleased that little Miller was acceptable instead.

You might want to delete the photo and that last post - would the parents approve?

Elegran Mon 03-Jul-23 18:16:46

It may be that it won't accept the photo because the file is too big.

GSM is correct.

Our children would be very displeased if their children were on GN.

Before he goes I must say he’s gorgeous. Lovely little chapsmile

Marydoll Mon 03-Jul-23 19:11:32

Hellogirl sometimes photo don't post on GN because of their size.
It has happened quite a lot to me recently. Sometimes I resize it, using an app.

VioletSky Mon 03-Jul-23 19:14:30

H is very cute but please check you have permission to post his picture on a public forum

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 03-Jul-23 20:59:20

It seems our warnings about photo and name have been ignored. Anyone, anywhere has now seen and even downloaded this. Most unwise.

Marydoll Mon 03-Jul-23 21:05:25

I spent half my teaching career advising children not to post photos and personal info online. Unfortunately, their parents rarely took heed of that advice,

On the rare occasions, I have posted a photo on GN, I have always sought permission first.

Some posters are very naive.

Hellogirl1 Mon 03-Jul-23 21:10:01

All my grandchildren and great grandchildren have featured on several forums, often posted by their own parents. I`m sorry if I`m thought to be naive.

crazyH Mon 03-Jul-23 21:10:08

Hellogirl - that’s a cute baby, but I hope you have had permission from the child’s parents to publish this photo.

Shinamae Mon 03-Jul-23 21:14:02

I have beautiful grandchildren, but would never dream of posting their photos on a public forum

Marydoll Mon 03-Jul-23 22:28:33

When I used the term naive, I meant it in the sense, that some on here are unaware that technology is very advanced nowadays and that photos can easily be manipulated and not for good reasons either.

Perhaps I should have used the term innocent instead. No offense was intended, but years of safeguarding training, which is still ongoing, leave me very wary. It was a warning to all who post photos on here, showing on occasions, children in school uniforms and giving their real names. It makes them easily identifiable.

I did post a picture of my newly born granddaughter recently. It was with the permission of her parents and I admit, I had a momentary lapse. Like the OP, I wanted to share my joy.

But are the parents ok with the photo being here?

BlueBelle Tue 04-Jul-23 06:16:23

Hellogirl do you realise that articles on here have been copied into national newspapers !!
You have put a baby’s photo and also his name not a wise move I m afraid
If you look through all the threads you will rarely see a baby’s or even a persons photo on here
Up to you but not advised

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 04-Jul-23 09:01:08

Hellogirl, anyone anywhere can read GN. That includes paedophiles. It’s probably far too late but do you really want such people to have access to that photo? You have given access to them. This is not a private Facebook page.

nightowl Tue 04-Jul-23 09:35:49

Please don’t be upset by people’s attitudes Hellogirl. I’m sure you know your own family and wouldn’t do anything that might upset them. I think people mean well although sometimes the tone of posts could be kinder.
