Spam threads - a message from GNHQ

The Active list now consists almost entirely of spam threads. I simply cannot be bothered to report so many. GN must be able to do something. Why are they not on the lookout for these threads and deleting them immediately?

I always get the impression they are not waiting by the computer or desk.
That is my impression.

It’s just annoying. Why are you not looking out for these. You are obviously being targeted.

I think I'll come off gransnet until, if ever, they get rid of the constant spam. I find it intensely irritating

I don't know anything about Gransnet's origins and was interested to hear it called an 'old site'. Sound like it needs a complete overhaul.

I can only suggest that new users have their posts checked before they get posted. Also, a text message sent to a mobile phone to verify the user before their username is accepted.

I have just reported the latest deluge of spam spells, without posting reported on the individual threads 😡

I'm sorry to bang on, but I still don't understand why GN report that 'the message has been deleted', but still the threads, with their titles, remain there for all to see. Why can't the whole thread just disappear in its entirety?

They are all lurking in the Unanswered Box !!!

I wondered that GSM re reporting, perhaps some guidance?

I have a feeling this is quite a sophisticated attack not easily undone.

I’m getting fed up with reporting this spam. Do GN rely on us to report before they do anything?

I've been reporting them but hopefully GNHQ are looking out for them and will get rid as soon as they appear.

It's awful, isn't it? I imagine they are trying with high level help to chase IP's/hackers bouncing stuff around the world to be as untraceable as possible.
