Video advert placed right over the writing part of each post

I can't see the text on the desktop version.
I have to make the font so big that I can only fit about three words on the screen!

I have given up trying to use my mobile today. The adverts cover the posts and won't be closed.

PLEASE sort this out HQ. I'm using my laptop at the moment but would rather use my phone.

I was having this so I changed over to the desktop version and it's been fine ever since.

I have been getting these full page adverts for a couple of days. When I delete the advert I am then out of GN. Almost as soon as I get back in along comes the next advert.
This only happens when reading threads, writing is not affected.

I have the same advert which covers the whole screen and can't be closed. However, this is only on my ipad and not on the laptop.

I can't see anything except the pop up advert. We had this before with an aldi pop up.
Can ut be fixed?

Still getting three quarters of screen covered by adverts that won’t close. It’s making me stop using Gransnet. I’m not getting this on any other site!

I am constantly getting various ads for different products. Cannot get rid of them, getting fed up of using gransnet now as I have to keep going in and out. It has taken me ages to write this as and keeps coming up. Very similar on Mumsnet.

Yes. the whole page makes everything pointless.

I've just seen that one - it's for 3 ingredient scones, lemonade (!) with milk and flour. I know that's not the subject of this thread, but has anyone tried them?

Yes, the adverts get on my nerves a bit too. I've repeatedly seen one for bras for those of us with droopy boobs - how do they know?

Mine isn't always there. I cleared cookies so it's not that.

It sometimes appears half way through writing too.

Too many adverts taking up three-quarters of the screen and compressing posts to the bottom quarter. Very irritating

A bit more info - ad is from ‘Spellbinders UK’. It’s for craft things. Appears to be mostly on the News & Politics thread for me.

I’ve just started getting a large advert for sewing stuff which covers almost the entire page of text. When I click on the X another page pops up that has no X so I can’t get rid of it. It’s only on Gransnet and only on some threads - not all. Really annoying!

It just started today with me.
An advert at the top which blocks text. Click the wee x. But it comes back all the time, on each thread.
Most irritating.
