Has anyone used the search facility today? I know some people never get it to work but I always have but not today.

Thanks for getting back to us. When you say it's blank, do you see the usual headers / menu etc and a strap line / headline that says "Search Gransnet" or do you mean you just get a completely blank which page as if you weren't on any website?

Calendargirl Fri 05-Dec-25 16:09:10

No, afraid it’s still just the same ‘blank’ screen.

Hi keepingquiet, yes it was started a while ago but sprung back to life in late November because a couple of people were still having problems.

Also, just to note, if the search box at the top of the page (which searches forum messages as well as articles etc) doesn't work you can search forum messages only by going to www.gransnet.com/forums?showsearch=arch

This is an old thread!

Hi Calendargirl, Can you try again and let me know if you see any sort of error message now? We made an update to the page so that it will report if it encounters either of a couple of conditions that may stop it working.

Calendargirl Tue 02-Dec-25 07:44:29

The latter was in reply to StevenGNTech.

I have messaged him also.

Calendargirl Tue 02-Dec-25 07:41:14

Nothing comes up, just a big, blank empty screen with ‘Search Gransnet’ at the top.

No error message.

Now working on my iPad.

Jaxjacky Mon 01-Dec-25 14:57:28

Working fine for me on iPad.

StevenGnTech (GNHQ) Mon 01-Dec-25 14:52:16

Hi, Calendargirl, if you type something in the box and hit the enter key, what comes up on the page that displays? Is there any kind of error message?

BlueBelle Mon 01-Dec-25 14:01:15

My search facility is definitely up and running IPad

Calendargirl Mon 01-Dec-25 13:51:09

Still no ‘Search’ facility.

I pad.

Hi there, it's still not working for me. I am using a Mac running Tahoe 26.1

Calendargirl Tue 25-Nov-25 12:58:04

My ‘search’ button is at the top of the page, to the right of ‘Gransnet’ and to the left of ‘puzzles’ ‘inbox’ and ‘log out’.

This is on an iPad.

Calendargirl Tue 25-Nov-25 12:54:01

Works on my iPad!

Well, I’m afraid it doesn’t on mine.

Thx Steven.

I’m on an I pad, and no, it doesn’t work.

Hi, If you are on a phone, the search page that comes up when you click the search button in the bottom bar (first photo) is unfortunately broken. But the search box that comes up when you click the "hamburger menu" at the top of the page should work.

If you're on a computer the search box at the top of each page in the GN masthead should work.

We are hoping to get the broken search (bottom bar search) back over the next week or so.

Calendargirl Mon 24-Nov-25 13:35:23

The search facility still not working here for me. Annoying, as I was trying to look up a past post and no idea where it is!

Hi @boheminan - just wondered if the search function is working for you by now? If not, please can you let us know which device and browser you're using so we can take a closer look.

Hi all, the search box at the top of the screen should work again now. Apologies for the delay to this.

Many thanks!

Any update on Search from GN?

Wyllow3 Tue 07-Oct-25 15:41:24

it hasn't been working for quite a long time for me.

I actually assumed it was deliberate as its possibly to look up not an issue but an individuals posting history, which can be for benign or other reasons.
