Well that was a long outage wasn’t it?

Not a lot of point in saying Good Morning, but I will anyway.
How did you all spend your morning without Gransnet?

I was at Addenbrooke’s hospital with my son who had major surgery on Thursday lasting 8 hours. He was in Intensive Care and I couldn’t visit until 11 am yesterday.

I thought I would kill some time online but no GN. I thought it was because I was on NHS wifi. 🤭

Ilovedogs22 Sat 11-Oct-25 17:21:46

I went for a walk with Muttface & DH who managed yet again to just grunt & ignore me! Wondering if a divorce is feasable now or if I've left it too late? He is still chatting away to someone on the phone, when he thinks I can't hear him! Feeling a bit sad really.

Preparing a meat and potato pie lunch for visiting DS and DiL and prepping the vegetables. Then a leisurely afternoon. I didn’t get the chance to check in on the good morning thread until after four o’clock.

Yes, I do think we are supposed to behave with decorum on GN!

Well, I went down the rabbit hole of a thread about the Duchess of Sussex. If we posted anything like some of what I read, I think we'd get our knuckles rapped.

Don't think I'll join MN.

All the same I think we get ‘babied’ a bit too much on here Allira as though we’re all in our dotage.

Got a new phone yesterday and have had such trouble logging back on to all my apps I thought it must be my ** phone!

Sago Sat 11-Oct-25 15:49:04

First time checking today so I had no idea.

We’re on grandparenting duties so we were up at 7.00 (normally it’s 6.30 on a school morning) and away for a hockey match at school for 9.20.

Team tea at school which wasn’t appreciated by her 5 year old brother then home.

Parents back any minute so roast dinner as requested is in the making.

Sar53 Sat 11-Oct-25 15:06:04

Hello everyone.
We've been out for brunch with DH'S family to celebrate his 70th birthday on Tuesday. We then went back to his daughter's house for birthday cake. A lovely morning.
Relaxing now with the papers and a cup of tea.
I hope you are all having a good Saturday xx

We were up early to get to our flu jab appointments before 9 am. Did a local food shop. Had a phone call from DD3 asking me to pop to her house to collect a dressing up costume. 4 year old DHS had arrived at a party and she had completely forgotten that he should be wearing a super hero costume. As she had walked there it was quicker for me in the car. One very upset little boy pacified and says Nana is a super hero too.
Filled and iced three cakes for DD2 ready for her gathering of friends this evening. Supervised DH and his friend replacing 4 fence panels. I did provide coffee and cake.
Had a message from DD1 to say she would be calling in later.
Painted some colour patches on the lounge wall. Caught up on an episode of a TV programme we missed during the week while we had lunch.
Now I’m off to my craft room to make some card and pipe cleaner lollipops !

Patsy70 Sat 11-Oct-25 14:54:12

Also went to farm shop for meat and veg. Marinated chicken for dinner! 😊

Patsy70 Sat 11-Oct-25 14:52:53

Emptied dishwasher, showered, dressed, took dog to field, collected papers, came home and made a sausage sandwich, tidied kitchen, then gardened until 2pm. A fairly productive few hours. Now sitting in the garden with a cuppa.

Lolling about with a virus ... blessed nuisance

Allira Sat 11-Oct-25 14:40:35

Marydoll

Made a batch of goats cheese tarts, I didn't want to break my promise to DD.

Don't feel great, but decided to keep busy.
I'm considering making toffee apple cake, with apples from the garden.
Having a rest first.

Well, they look delicious, Marydoll.

Enough to share?

- Finding out yet more history of Palestine and what's been happening over the decades. Shocked 'r us.

- Found a way to maybe try and resolve (or at least publicise) a problem a place here created for me one time not long after I'd moved from England to Wales...and certainly it's Out There now publicised what that place (shouldnt have) done in their attitude and I know what sort of apology they should make - though I'm not holding my breath. They owe me one for sure for WAY worse "service" than I'd been used to - ie non-existent service/virtually literally threw me out!!!!! Revenge is a dish best served cold - and I just did.

- Having a long chat with a foreign neighbour that pretty recently moved here (very mutually useful all round - as we've both had episodes occur - or witnessed them - that shouldnt have happened). We've got quite a useful swap-little-favours-with-each-other thing going on now (pleasant change from the awful nearer neighbours I've got - the previous ringleader of whom stalked past us as we were talking and made sure she gave me one of her Almighty Glares/sneering at me looks). Grinned at the fact I know for a fact there's only a few months agegap between us - but she looks about 10-15 years older than I do. Ooooh...I am so naughty aren't I? (but after the way she's been = no wonder).

- Been finalising arrangements with someone I've not yet met (to see if we can deal with the "bad atmosphere" I can see my house had at the time I bought it). Yep...we're talking New Age/esoteric type stuff. I've gutted the house and garden since I bought it and about the only thing that hasn't changed is the layout and it's way more modern and functional than it was/much more "normal" these days - but there's still work to do to make my home feel "normal" on a different level. Followed by checking re some odd things I found in my garden after I'd bought my house - and they were indeed pagan type "protection" things against bad neighbours.....hmmm....

- Bought a little present for the someone coming to see about the bad atmosphere/vibes my house has got - as they are refusing to be paid for it. So - bought a present for them instead. Everyone used to go "Blah....." about my house back when I first bought it. Now I've had it and the garden gutted - they go "Nice....nice....nice...." but those bad vibes stuff is still here and that needs sorting one way or the other. I need to feel like it's my "home" and "safe" - and so I'm working on sorting that out now...

Allira Sat 11-Oct-25 14:37:11

Sorted out summer/winter clothes.

Hadn't realised I had quite so many t-shirts! Some have gone into the ragbag as our charity shop takes stuff for the ragman if properly labelled.

Did peek at Mumsnet 😲

Millie22 Sat 11-Oct-25 14:31:59

I usually read the GM thread and then get on with my day so I looked at MN instead. Usual stuff someone discussing whether they should buy a 5 bedroom house so that each child can have their own bedroom. The replies were amusing.

I've tidied my garden. Looking forward to Strictly tonight as I missed it last week.

Magenta8 Sat 11-Oct-25 14:27:22

I looked after two of my GCs while DD gave somebody a driving lesson. While I was at DD's I took delivery of a new mattress and DD's cat popped in from the garden and had her head stroked a few times. Exciting stuff!

They're certainly more 'direct' 😮 but some comments are really funny 🤣

Ziplok Sat 11-Oct-25 14:19:42

I didn’t know there had been an outage today 😅. In other words, I’ve been too busy to go onto GN until now, so would have been none the wiser if I hadn’t seen this thread.

luluaugust Sat 11-Oct-25 14:14:34

I visited the Building Society and the supermarkets where I purchased a couple of jumpers as everything was 20 percent off
Now going to make a cake

MiniMoon Sat 11-Oct-25 13:46:48

I completed wordle and squardle. Made a lovely beef stew for dinner and had a conversation with GS 3 who came to spend the day with us.

henetha Sat 11-Oct-25 13:45:56

I drove to Torquay and am sat eating my sandwiches on Marine Drive , looking across to Brixham.
Cloudy, mild, quiet, it's lovely here .
I went on Babbacombe downs earlier, another lovely view point.

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Oct-25 13:42:40

Read some of the paper, washed the kitchen floor, called Tesco to ‘discuss’ part of my delivery missing yesterday - again.
Watered violas waiting to go in, checked veg plot for bugs, ate a brunch of blueberries, banana, kiwi and M&S what biscuits.
