I am no longer bothered about whether other people like me or not, i have finally learned that you can not please everyone

I am no longer bothered when my house isn't neat and tidy. I used to take such pride in it (and my garden) but I'm happier just using it these days & if it gets a little shabby and messy, that's OK.

Not bothered if someone drops in, even if the dust is visible. They can and do take me as they find me.

I don't care about the mess anymore If you want to visit unexpectedly you take me as you fine me.

I don't care what other people think of me

What people think of me or having to ask for something to be explained if I don't understand, the sort of things that when you are younger feel like the end of the world and you stress about seeming silly.

Worrying about what other people think. I'm happy with who I am smile

Gosh !!! ...... Rewind ..... What bothered me in younger days were immaterial things like whether the neighbors had a newer car than me, and whether my friends were slimmer than me !!! These days, I m quite happy to drive an older model car, and spend my money on travelling and chuckling with my friends on the unfortunate effects of the menopause on our once slim frames :D

I no longer care about my enemies - all those people who said I would never make anything out of my life - I know I am a huge success - I have achieved everything I set out to do - and I am still doing more!

I no longer worry about fashion - I buy clothes I like, in colours and styles that make me feel good, and wear them when and how I like

I do not worry about the impresion I make on anybody . They can take me or leave me but I do try to be polite and interested in everyone.

I own my house outright now so not worried about paying a mortgage

chloe1984 Thu 29-Jan-15 16:33:04

Since being retired I don't have to worry about the weather in the mornings, having something to wear that is respectable, having a good pair of tights. As I have aged I don't worry about what people think about ME however I still worry about my diet,my hair and what I look like perhaps as I get older these things too will fade into insignificance. I still also worry over my children but then I always did and no doubt always will.

if I think my skin is looking good and I feel good about myself - I will go out with no make - making sure my hair is as near perfect as I can get

For years and years, almost all my working life in fact - I worried about leaving and my reasoning was that I was sure that no-one would want to employ me ever again. Roll on a troublesome time and I left work. Little did I realise the freedom would enable my confidence to flourish and now I think 'heck, they'd be lucky to have me!' if I applied for a job. Confidence or laissez-faire, I don't know but boy does it feel good! x

Last week I swept across a crowded pub to pick up a raffle prize.... with my dress tucked into my knickers !

Few years ago I would have been mortified. Not any more.

Told 'em they were lucky it was cold and I had knickers on !!

I like my 'pepper and salt' hair, so I've given up dyeing it long ago - and when I did dye it, I used green dye because I loved having green hair. Can't be bothered with it now!

I'd love to say that I'm no longer bothered how I look, but I am. I love clothes, but being short and fat I rarely find things that make me look elegant. However....I have my own style, such as it is, and I'm happy with that when I do find clothes that appeal, and I don't care that it differs from how some other people dress because it feels like ME. I'm proud to be a Crone ;)

I lost three front teeth when l was A LOT younger and ld NEVER tell anyone or be seen without them - and recently l opened front door to day hi to someone exchanged few words then l went in - l realised ld not got the denture in I Was Mortified till l thought What the Hell, we still had a conversation, she's still my friend, nobody pointed or laughed
So you know what lm not bothered any more, l have my health my happiness my wonderful children, granddaughter FAMILY - l lost these teeth through a hereditary thing on my dad's side so why was l so uptight - IM NOT BOTHERED ANY MORE

I do not think there is anything that bothered when I was young that doesn't bother me now I'm older.

When I was in my mid-40s my sister died in a road accident. We were close. Ever since then, any other problem in life sinks into insignificance in comparison.

Shyness no longer bothers me. Having been brought up to be seen and not heard, I used to struggle with speaking to strangers in social situations - now I chat away to anyone and everyone! It certainly helps pass the time on the train or bus, and I've met some really interesting people that way.
