In harmony with our dna ethnicity roots we'd follow in the footsteps of our past starting with a Celtic adventure of the three islands of: Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I could add to this but it would require flying over to the Iberian peninsula or cruising off to Scandinavia. Not having ever flown, I would opt for the Celtic adventure but having to take care of a bedbound relative detains me from the lengthier options.

I’d love to go back to the Hawaiian Islands because I love it there. Health, mobility and lack of finances are the only things stopping me.

I would love to go to Sri Lanka. I lived there as a child and have never had the time or funds to return. I have recently retired and would like to use some of my tax free lump sum for the trip, but health issues with multiple members of the family mean that I have to focus on caring for and supporting them at present

I have a long list of places I'd love to go, but I cannot stand the travel involved in getting there (cramped or seasick). When they sort out teleporting (or similar) then I'l be off!!

I'd like to drive from the Cape to Cairo. I'm in South Africa at the moment and picked up a book called My African Conquest by a woman in her 80s who did just that - in a car with 400,000k on the clock. What stops me is someone to organise it for me! (I daren't mention it to the OH or we's be off ...)

Travel (medical) insurance is always important, whether we'd get someone to insure two old folk for a trip like that is another story ...

The Brando Hotel on Tetiaroa, French Polynesia. What would stop me? The cost and duration of the nineteen hour flight to Tahiti via LA, plus the short flight to Tetiaroa, on top of the cost of a stay at this fabulous hotel. But I can dream!

I'd love to visit Iceland. There's many, many things that stop me from travelling. Just a couple: I have more pressing priorities for my limited funds and flying is really bad for the environment. I'd feel quite confident about getting the right travel insurance though, as I'm good at shopping around for home/car insurance etc.

Borneo, to see the apes. However I have arthritis in knee and ankle and I understand there is a lot of walking involved. I have yet to take a holiday alone after loosing my husband.

If I could go anywhere in the world I would choose New Orleans. I would love to experience the culture and street life they have to offer. The music, the magic, the food. New Orleans intrigues me and is definitely on the top of my bucket list for new places to visit.

I have always wanted to visit China. I am keen to see the sights - the Great Wall, the forbidden city, the Terracotta Army etc.
Two things are holding me back. Firstly, the price of the trip and secondly, none of my family are keen to go with me.

We’d love to go to Australia and New Zealand but the long flight just puts us off. The only way we could do it would be to fly business class so that we could at least try to sleep. The extra cost of this prevents us from going .

I’d go to Italy, my dad and my Nan and grandad are Italian and I’ve never been there! My dad didn’t teach me to speak Italian but I’m learning it at the moment! I will go there when I can afford it but right now I’m not in a good financial situation so it’s a pipe dream right now!

Gillyknits you could always do the journey in stages on a round trip ticket which eases you gently into the time change and gives you time to recover! We flew to Capetown for a week then on to Perth for another week then to Sydney. Returned via a few days in Singapore. Just a thought!

I had to travel to some long haul destinations for work and there aren't many of those places I'd like to revisit, but closer to home there is Switzerland, where once I had to fly in, stay overnight and fly out again! I'd like to return and this time stay in top class hotels. My days would be spent relaxing, sailing and swimming, travelling up into the mountains, exploring the villages and driving the mountain passes, in a luxury car of course.

A train journey along the lakesides would be a must and on days when I wasn't travelling I'd paint/photograph the incredible scenery and seek out some of the excellent local restaurants. What is stopping me? I could not contemplate doing this alone. Dreams are expensive, especially in Switzerland and cost would be prohibitive, so I would have to economise somewhat!

Insurance? I never, ever travel without it. The only drawback when buying insurance is when I tell them my age. I'm not on any meds and have no known condition, but age now ramps up the cost.

My dream is to travel by ship to New Zealand. It can be done, I'm told though it takes a long time and costs a lot of money. Then I'd need to come back! We did this trip when I was a child when ships were the cheap way and only rich people could afford to fly.
There are websites devoted to explaining how fly-free travel can be done. You don't have to be Greta Thunberg and go in a sailing yacht.
I guess I would need insurance.

I've always wanted to visit Patagonia and Antarctica. What is stopping me? Well the cost is a major factor. Tourism to Antarctica is strictly controlled to protect the precious environment, and rightly so. Therefore the trips are prohibitively expensive.

Other factors stopping me are my own anxieties, a close family member in poor health and the environmental impact of such a long flight.

I have an annual travel insurance policy through my bank and I wouldn't travel without one.

When I was a child I lived in the USA and we travelled all around the world with my dads job, but we never did the UK so I would like to see more of the UK. Also I would love to see the the Northern Lights

I would lovely to travel to Iceland before travelling onto Canada. The Northern Lights, Blue Lagoon and Niagra Falls are places I want to visit.

All of America would be amazing! The cost is a huge reason in not travelling, but I do think travel insurance is a must just in case.

Oh I would love to visit Australia and New Zealand. The cost and the fact I don’t enjoy flying are preventing me at the moment, but I live in hope.
