Wales - Australia at 2pm today in the Millennium Stadium.
Shane's last international match!!! I suspect he will get a bit of applause...
Wales have a few injuries, and Australia have played their way through S Hemisphere season, followed by World Cup. Should be interesting.

Thought the comment ..." Did England win the game or did Scotland lose it?" was a valid one shock

What a scrappy game ..didn't enjoy watching it. Hope tomorrow's match is of a better quality. hmm

jeni Sat 04-Feb-12 19:00:18

Only turned on at the end.

Annobel Sat 04-Feb-12 19:16:25

Scotland certainly lost it - couldn't hold on to the ball. In every other respect they were quite good - at least, not bad! England have the makings of a better squad than the World Cup one, more open play, less bump and grind.

jeni Sat 04-Feb-12 19:21:39

How can you call it a all when it's that shape?

jeni Sat 04-Feb-12 19:22:03

Meant ball, missed the b

jeni Sat 04-Feb-12 19:22:38

Come to think of it ,so did those Picts!

Annobel Sat 04-Feb-12 19:52:18

jeni, we Picts are still among you... grin

gracesmum Sat 04-Feb-12 19:54:30

sadsadsad but liked the jibe at us Picts grin
A very unsatisfying match, nothing to raise the heartrate just the BP. I gave up in the second half and was going to visit DH in hospital , but it had been snowing steadily for 2 hours so I came back into the house and rang him instead. Still snowing but have to walk the dog sometime shock

Annobel Sat 04-Feb-12 21:54:25

The match was so exciting that I managed to fall asleep half way through. Missed the try and half time.

glassortwo Sat 04-Feb-12 22:09:47

grace is your DH in hospital?

mrshat Sat 04-Feb-12 22:35:55

Ah yes, Six Nations Rugby. This afternoon spent watching and disbelieving. Methinks that France might just win the Grand Slam. However, tomorrow *should* give us a blinder, but we have been disappinted before! Ireland are my team but Wales are a strong field this year so! Will the snow disrupt proceedings - hope not. Another afternoon, snug in front of the TV with DH not having a good word to say about players, coaches, referees or indeed anything, including the weather! Happy days! grin

mrshat Sat 04-Feb-12 22:36:57

Apologies for typos - thought I had previewed, but obviously not. Too late, time for bed!

gracesmum Sun 05-Feb-12 11:20:34

Yes, Glass he is still there and I wish I had left him enough money to get a TV card when I was there yesterday afternoon but I had planned to go back after the Scotland/England match - only to be deterred by the snow. Now I definitely will have to go back so that he can watch this afternoon's rugby (with me) - I would feel happier though if I had seen a single car going past our house!

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 13:05:11

Take care gracesmum with the drive in to the hospital ...could you take an overnight bag with you ...hotel for night? So not trying to drive back in the dark, especially if it is then freezing?

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 13:39:18

Do please take care. Ibet someone else in the ward is watching it. Why don't you ring him first and find out. No point in you both ending in hospital. They don't do double beds!

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 16:55:02

Well ...that was a much more exciting game. Pity it had to end with a penalty ...but it was often quite a physical game.

They don't care where they grab each other! shock

Annobel Sun 05-Feb-12 17:16:15

Nail-biting if you were Welsh or Irish which I'm not. Much more fun to watch than yesterday's effort.

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 17:41:09

Who won? I've been reading my files for next week. Is it really worth going to work at 67 when it means working all weekend as well?
Oh well must stop being grumpy and have a vodka wine

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 18:03:45

No Jeni it isn't worth it!!
Now every evening is a Saturday!! I didn't have to get up for work in the morning and I don't have to get up for work tomorrow morning either!! sunshine

re Rugby ...Wales, thanks to a penalty.

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 18:09:27

Thanks jacey. I'm only working 3days this week and it will pay for the new vacuum cleaner and child gate thatdd wants.sunshine

JessM Sun 05-Feb-12 18:36:15

Well if you were Welsh it was a nail biter. And far better rugby than the Scot/Eng match yesterday. Both sides played really well despite all the gloom about Welsh injured before hand. Lots of newish internationals, bloodied in NZ, stepping up to the plate.
BUT
Lee Halfpenny was just lining up his final kick, last one of the day, a potential match winner when the blooming Freesat box decided the programme must be over and stopped recording. So we did not see it. That is what I call an anticlimactic moment.

mrshat Sun 05-Feb-12 19:47:29

Yes indeed. A cracking match and a nail biter for those of us who were cheering on the Irish - what a disappointment. At least it was the best game of rugby over the weekend. Now, is it France or Wales for the Grand Slam? sad

Jacey Sat 11-Feb-12 18:17:37

Snow in Rome?? Why hadn't I expected that? hmm

So England manage another win ...partly thanks to Italy's poor penalty kicks,

Oh well, lets make the most of it ...unlikely to beat Wales or France confused

jeni Sat 11-Feb-12 18:26:47

And why not pray?

Annobel Sat 11-Feb-12 18:42:45

Horrid conditions for the England/Italy match, but they managed a better game than I expected. England, free from the influence of Martin Johnson, are trying to play more open rugby. Long may it last!
