Wales - Australia at 2pm today in the Millennium Stadium.
Shane's last international match!!! I suspect he will get a bit of applause...
Wales have a few injuries, and Australia have played their way through S Hemisphere season, followed by World Cup. Should be interesting.

Yes, a decent enough match between Italy & England, but there was I, all settled, snug and warm, a nice glass of red wine at the ready and they postponed the France v Ireland match at 2 minutes to kick off! How is a body supposed to cope with that pray? sad

gracesmum Sat 11-Feb-12 21:16:06

Like Mrshat I was settled down, glass in hand and VERY CROSS that the match was cancelled. Can't Stade de France cope with cold weather? How about learning from Murrayfield where in the days before the famous "electric blanket" they used to put down straw and thaw the pitch out with what the immortal Bill described as "brassieres"

Annobel Sat 11-Feb-12 22:07:31

Me too, only it was a large mug of tea. I suppose this is such a rare event at the Stade de France that it wouldn't occur to them to take such elementary precautions.

mrshat Sun 12-Feb-12 14:28:37

Well, here we go again. Down to the Millenium stadium in Cardiff. Hopefully this will be an exciting and thrilling match to make up for my loss last night. Somehow, I am not so sure ............................hmm

Annobel Sun 12-Feb-12 14:39:46

At least they have a roof!

Jacey Sun 12-Feb-12 20:58:18

Can anyone tell what a 'professional' foul is and why it is different to any old foul?? confused

I think that any foul is an intentional way to cheat with the aim of preventing the other team from succeeding. hmm

They certainly cost Scotland dearly today

jeni Sun 12-Feb-12 21:16:42

I gather the welsh won?

Seventimesfive Sun 12-Feb-12 21:55:37

Yes! Oggie oggie oggie as Max Boyce used to say! (Don't ask me what it means, haven't a clue)!

jeni Sun 12-Feb-12 22:17:18

I remember him.he used to have a big leak?confused

Seventimesfive Sun 12-Feb-12 22:27:29

Yes, and he did seem to go on and on! grin

jeni Sun 12-Feb-12 22:57:12

On that note
Night night!

mrshat Mon 13-Feb-12 11:54:29

A reasonably exciting second half - so Wales or England for the Triple Crown?

Annobel Mon 13-Feb-12 12:32:15

jeni was that a deliberate mistake?

mrshat I am not a betting woman but would put my money on Wales - more experience and great defence.

JessM Mon 13-Feb-12 18:30:57

Yes England squeaked a win against a Scottish side that kept dropping the ball. England squad have had a bad 12 months. Not many familiar faces left!
heartened that Wales is doing so well despite some of the normal squad being injured. Hope big george gets better soon!

mrshat Mon 13-Feb-12 19:32:48

I think you're right Annobel but this England team should mature well and be ok in a few years hmm

Jacey Sat 25-Feb-12 17:46:33

Wow ...what a game!! So much closer than I had hoped for.

Wouldn't have wanted to watch it with anyone with a weak heart.

Ariadne Sat 25-Feb-12 18:12:08

That WAS exciting, I have to admit!

mrshat Sat 25-Feb-12 20:29:49

Yes, a good afternoon's rugby. Delighted with the Irish result altho' not a very inspiring match but England v Wales was nail biting in parts. I thought England did exceptionally well and I'm disappointed for them. Unfortunately their lack of experience shows and maybe a few of the old faces with experience under their belt could have just nudged a win - but hey ho! I'm not the manager!!!! grin

Jacey Sat 25-Feb-12 20:35:40

At least you got to see Ireland play and win this time mrshat

Hope Scotland get their act together tomorrow!

mrshat Tue 28-Feb-12 11:12:13

True Jacey and we have the pleasure(!) of France v Ireland this Sunday - let's hope it is a fine sunny day! I would so love Ireland to beat France hmm

Jacey Tue 28-Feb-12 11:16:37

me too!! grin

Annobel Tue 28-Feb-12 11:24:53

I was disappointed that Scotland played pretty well but still didn't get the better of France. There wasn't very much difference in skills between the two sides.

Jacey Tue 28-Feb-12 11:31:48

Agree Annobel ...but at least they got a couple of tries this timesmile

Do you know what happened to their injured player ...I seem to have missed the follow up?

mrshat Tue 28-Feb-12 11:44:26

I felt sorry for Scotland too, I thought they deserved a better result. I also felt England did very well and also deserved a better result, but that's rugby!
I must also have missed follow up on the injured players over the weekend. Hopefully they are all OK. So, will Wales win the Championship? confused

Jacey Tue 28-Feb-12 12:45:48

yes please ...it would be better than the ....oh, umm ...better not say as have some GNetters living there confused
