Rafel Nadal has just won his first round. smile What a nice man he is.

Andy Murray on court now - I am a fan.

I watch little television as a rule, except for this fortnight which I thoroughly enjoy!

I've come out from behind the cushion. It's great now!

whenim64 Wed 04-Jul-12 18:10:39

I am loving this match. Fabulous tennis!

Jacey Wed 04-Jul-12 18:10:14

Murray ...got bored! Given up on such erratic play! confused And can't stand watching his mother any longer shock
Have found something else to have on, in the background. grin

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 17:57:20

Innit! I am glued to my chair in terrified fascination. Rabbit in headlights syndrome.

merlotgran Wed 04-Jul-12 17:35:08

Murray......This is excruciating! shock

I want Federer to win, too, now that Nadal is out of the championship. He is such a gentleman, and it would be great to see him hit that record smile

crimson Wed 04-Jul-12 15:24:08

Same here, although I've never been his greatest fan. Rage, rage against the dying of the light and all that. Must be awful being number one for so long and finding yourself slipping down the ranks. Although, not as bad as being better than most people on the planet but knowing you'll never beat a Nadal or Federer. I'd like him to beat Sampra's record as he ruined the game for me for a long time.

Hurrah Roger has won! I love him, he is always so calm and well behaved.smile

I would love him to win the title one last time. blush

soop Wed 04-Jul-12 12:58:22

Oh dear! I'm torn between you lot and Roger F playing in the quarter finals at Wimbles...a tough choice. As much as I love you, I cannot miss the game. BUT I shall return...wink

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 11:08:25

He already has broken that hoodoo. He has reached the semi-finals three times before.

DavidH22 Wed 04-Jul-12 10:24:39

Three certain things in a British summer: It rains, and England and Andy Murray are knocked out of their respective tournaments in the quarter finals. Hopefully Murray can break that hoodoo.

I love Sue Barker in the new Go Compare advert. She bazookas the opera singer! She also does a great job on Question of Sport.
I am looking forward to today's tennis, not hopeful of Murray winning. I can't like him, but for the country a win would be fantastic. sunshine

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 09:16:22

The BBC scored well when they took on Sue as a sports presenter. She looks good, sounds good and knows what she's talking about.

whenim64 Wed 04-Jul-12 08:22:17

Yes, I like Sue Barker. I enjoyed the introductions that she did on Saturday, when lots of sporting greats were amongst the spectators. She talked about them all with such affection and humour, especially when Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson were given applause smile

Ella46 Wed 04-Jul-12 08:06:38

Thank goodness for Sue Barker, she's great!

Why do these female players have to shriek? I do hope they get these hand held meters to measure the sound level, and put a stop to it.

whenim64 Tue 03-Jul-12 21:47:39

Oh Yes, so he is - it's that brown suit with the ginger beard! grin

Annobel Tue 03-Jul-12 21:11:49

I wondered who he reminded me of! You are so right, johanna.

johanna Tue 03-Jul-12 20:51:02

Boris Becker is starting to look like Vincent van Gogh!grin

whenim64 Tue 03-Jul-12 20:05:33

This really is a prolonged shriek, isn't it? I don't understand why it needs to continue when the ball is on the other side of the net - does she think she's pushing it further on with the air she's exhaling? grin

Annobel Tue 03-Jul-12 19:55:57

OMG! I am watching Azarenka who has a shriek to rival Sharakova's. Wouldn't it be terrible if the two of them were playing each other? Good job Sharakova is out of it. However, Azarenka seems to be a strong possibility for the final. Perhaps developing a shriek or a squeal would benefit the British girls. hmm

Annobel Tue 03-Jul-12 14:40:54

What a relief that the rain held off for Murray v Cilic. And didn't Andy play brilliantly to polish off the match! If he could always play like that - especially serve that well - he could beat anyone.

Ella46 Mon 02-Jul-12 18:24:58

pammy grin

pammygran Mon 02-Jul-12 16:30:19

Agree totally Ella bout Pat Cash, but Mcenroe is ten times worse, he talks ALL the time, worst of all when the players are about to serve...know where i'd stick a sock!

Ella46 Mon 02-Jul-12 16:16:41

Why doesn't Pat Cash SHUT UP? He has verbal diarrhoea and is spoiling the play for me. angry

Ella46 Mon 02-Jul-12 09:58:28

Hope it doesn't rain too much today, I'm planning a couch potato week! grin
