I have not watched any women's tennis for a while - I find the men's more interesting. I was staggered today by the amount and volume of the noise that the women make - it is quite unbelievable! It is quite extraordinary. I too am surprised that there is no ruling about this. We have "abuse of the racquet" as a category - why not "damage to spectators' ears!"

Martina looks ten years younger every time I see her. She's starting to look positively glamorous these days .

I miss not having John Inverdale with a more prominent role. He made an error in describing one of the female players in a negative way, he should have been reprimanded then allowed to carry on doing what he does best. The BBC are plonkers IMO for down grading him.

That was fabulous- the best match of the day in my opinion. Serena is a good sport, applauding one of Heather's wins mid play. It was nice also to see the pair of them walk off court together. I cannot believe that Heather is 59 in the world after that performance today.

And Serena was gracious enough to give Heather the credit due to her.

Heather was amazing. It was as good as any final. Next time!!

Serena isn't fat, so I certainly would not call you "fattist" NanaKate - she is just a huge bundle of muscle.

Heather did so well to get as close as she did, and let us hope she will be able to realise this and not get too despondent.

Well done Heather you will beat Serena one day. Serena is so Amazonian in size I am surprised that Heather kept up with Serena's strength of serve.

And before anyone says I am being 'Fatist' if there is such a word, I am just stating a fact about her physique.
