Why don't people like him generally?
I wasn't keen and wanted Shapovalov to win but went off him rather when he had a long bathroom break and then a tantrum and shouted at the umpire.
I don’t like his anti vaccine stance. Also he was responsible for some players being infected last year: can’t remember the circumstances ( need to look it up). And I remember him playing Andy Murray once and he was guilty of a lot of gamesmanship. I never liked him after that. It was a long time ago but I’ve never forgotten it. He’s being nice now because he realises it’s good to get the crowd behind you, but I don’t trust him.
I didn't realise, have only taken notice of him as a tennis player and thought he was very graceless and yes, guilty of gamesmanship but had impr8ved lately.
Of course, Murray too lacked charm but has improved a lot in that area!
