Please join us in conversation if you enjoy Wimbledon - it is just 2 weeks of the years and greatly enjoyed by it’s fans.

I can’t look at him without thinking of his Novax attitude in Australia.

And he was throwing parties at the start of the pandemic where other players were catching it.

I do find it hard to forgive his attitude to vaccination at a critical time when it was important for people to be safe. And he is a role model to the young. Highly irresponsible, but I accept his right to make his own decision.

Many years ago he took a gamesmanship type toilet break during a match. I think he was playing Andy Murray. From then on I was always suspicious of him. And nothing that he’s done since has changed my attitude towards him. Which is sad because his tennis is sublime and I want to enjoy it.

If it comes to a match between Kyrgios and Djokovic I shall support Djokovic even though I'd normally support Djokovic's opponent.

Come on Nakashima!!

Watching Kyrgios at the mo though it is late here. He certainly draws the crowds and many of us here have gone through stages of loving him, hating him, exasperated with him. Now I quite like him, he’s a real showman.

Me too - and also the rest of my family I discovered during discussions today.

I'm getting quite irritated with the commentators trying to depict him as a lovable, watchable rogue so I'm going out to pull up some invasive plum seedlings that have taken root in the hedge.

lixy Mon 04-Jul-22 14:38:22

Also - I'd like some of whatever painkillers he takes. Very quick acting indeed!

Honeysuckleberries Mon 04-Jul-22 14:41:44

The Wimbledon staff have rewarded Kyrgios’ bad behaviour with a centre court appearance. Perhaps all players should be disruptive and bullying. Listening to Tim Henman’s grovelling commentary towards the ‘entertaining’ Kyrgios is making me so cross. I’m off to watch paint dry.

This match is a bit like watching paint dry. ?

Me too - I'd be playing there if only mine worked like that!

He's quieter but is the bad shoulder just more gamesmanship?

Chatting to some of my Australian family this morning who have (Aussie) friends staying and all think he's an embarrassment and a poor ambassador for Australia.

Callistemon21 Mon 04-Jul-22 16:13:23

Yes!! Come on Brandon

Smileless2012 Mon 04-Jul-22 17:37:50

TBH I found some of the commentary extremely annoying. I mean should we really be impressed that a 26 year old man who is clearly very good at tennis, managed to control himself on the centre court of Wimbledon?

Despite once again flouting the all white rule by putting on his red shoes and red hat when he leaves the court.

Luckygirl3 Mon 04-Jul-22 18:32:44

I just hope he does not get to the final as I will feel disinclined to watch for the first time in decades.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 04-Jul-22 19:05:55

I’m hoping he doesn’t make the final too Luckygirl

It is, isn't it.

TillyTrotter Mon 04-Jul-22 19:16:25

I cannot support Djokovic if he is in the final - I would have to be behind Kyrgios if it was those 2.
But …… Kyrgios would have to behave or I would just switch off.

Callistemon21 Mon 04-Jul-22 19:17:36

Oh no!

I really couldn't even though Kyrgios is Australian ....

TillyTrotter Mon 04-Jul-22 19:42:44

However …. in this evening’s match on centre court Rafa is looking quite invincible so I would like to see him in the Final ??

NanKate Mon 04-Jul-22 19:54:01

Come on Rafa you are the Best. ?????

I accepted his right to make his own decision, just not his right to ignore rules.
