OP seems to have run out of —bright— ideas for starting threads.
After I think about 15 in as many days, I am hardly surprised hmm

live it up a bit
Liven it up!

Is this the most boring thread ever?

😁

We could live it up a bit!

Who was that man who wanted to give his newborn child all the names of the players in his favourite football team?

Then there was the Australian man who named his daughter Lanesra (Arsenal backwards). His wife didn't realise for a couple of years.

It certainly started off badly then went downhill! grin

I am from Liverpool and don't like football so don't support anyone. There is so much competition between the supporters of the two home teams, Liverpool and Everton, that I am glad I don't support either. The first question I am asked is 'who do you support?' In Liverpool you don't even have to state what your talking about, when I say I don't like football, then I am looked at as if I have two heads!

I’m in the same boat as you and reply “Everpool” or “Liverton” just for fun as I don’t care who wins (but would like Everton to win maybe as they have been the underdog).
No idea at all about my neighbours here.

What a bizarre question!

How give a **?

He supports Arsenal same as my husband

My neighbours would think I’d lost the plot if I asked them.

Terribull my husband is Irish and supports an English team as Ireland have no teams in the Premier Leagues.

I know some Irish support English teams, Manchester United is fairly popular there I believe, but our conversations tend to relate to gardening matters mainly. I've no idea whether our neighbours are football supporters or not.

My father supported Fulham. My oh and sons support West Ham. I personally don't give a stuff about football, it's the last subject I'd initiate a conversation on, imo it's given too much prominence anyway.

Anyone who has posted a local team on here has probably told everyone where they live. See previous thread about disclosing information.
To answer the question, I’m pretty sure that my next door neighbour is not interested in football, nor am I, although I did watch one of the women’s team recently.

Mollygo Thu 04-Sept-25 09:11:00

Liverpool. She’s keener on football than we are.

Dundee as he hails from Scotland. My SIL is also from Dundee so they have plenty to chat about or rather commiserate with each other, given Dundee's present form.

TerriBull Thu 04-Sept-25 08:04:49

No idea! Our conversations tend to be in the nature of "shall I take your bins out when you're away?" Or our neighbour asking us if we'd like him to use his strimmer on our side of the dividing hedge. Anyway they're Irish so we wouldn't presune they'd support an English team. I don't care anyway and my oh wouldn't bring the subject up unless someone else initiated it. A couple of houses ago we did have a neighbour who supported the same team as husband and boys and he gave the children some bits and pieces relating to their mutual team.

kittylester Thu 04-Sept-25 08:03:57

And, why ask what our neighbours suppor? Ask them who we support.

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 04-Sept-25 07:50:49

Football really isn't much of a thing in East Kent.

Allira Wed 03-Sept-25 22:46:44

No idea!
We've never spoken about football.

NotSpaghetti Wed 03-Sept-25 21:54:35

It wouldn't occur to me to ask!
grin

It is however permitted to have an opinion about the subject or the logic of question.
Mine is 1) why assume everybody supports a football team 2) ask me by all means but 3) where do any of my neighbours come into it?

Ziggy62 Wed 03-Sept-25 21:46:01

My cousin lives in Sunderland and is a mad Sunderland supporter as is the rest of the family, her partner supports Newcastle lol. Personally I prefer rugby. Sorry slightly off topic .

Ziggy62 Wed 03-Sept-25 21:43:20

You don't have to comment on on a thread if you find the subject stupid, same as the Christmas thread, just move on to another thread you find more interesting
