So you don’t have any empathy for the disappointment of the team who gave it their everything, and the people that supported them just because you’d have to avoid some news for a bit?

The English team did brilliantly to get that far . I had to switch allegiance to England ,my second team, once my team was defeated but Australia did well, too, considering they are pretty much newcomers to international soccer ( we have the AFL, completely different)

I’d rather Argentina won the World Cup because at least we’d know that we lost to the best team in the world.

At least now the radio stations can bury that dreadful "It's Coming Home" dirge!

Ditto and all agreement, Grandma70's: never mind weeks, it would have dominated Brit media on all levels for the next 60 years!

Empathy? For 11 more than exceptionally over-paid and over praised Divas, who "gave it their everything"?

Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

That poor football fan featured in yesterday's media who was so very certain of an England win at the final that........he had an elaborate tattoo of the trophy done. It's very good quality so must have cost a few bob.

But now what?

That poor football fan Surely Padstow13 you meant Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! he’d be one of the people that supported the team?

Argentina were pretty excellent in the second half... played nasty in the first.. Tuchel knew we didn't stand a chance after our goal. That's why he put in more defenders, damage limitation. This was the only match we didn't see Tuchel remonstrating on the sideline, he knew what Argentina were about to unleash. England players should be proud they achieved so much getting into the SF.

Dare I say it, but I'm looking forward to the match England v France.

Listening to local radio this morning and people are reacting as if there's been a death in the family!

It's purely a cold-hearted business now whereas it used to be a simple game of the people. But a game nonetheless.

Do get a grip.

At least there won't be a bank holiday now, which I didn't think was a particularly good idea.
