......and how long does it take ?
Mine is shower, moisturize anything that's a bit dry,
brush over bit of 'minerals' make-up, lip gloss, brush hair, brush teeth. 10 minutes tops

Wish I could get through the routine in 10 minutes, those days are long gone. now it takes about 45 minutes and even then I might forget something like hair wash or moisturise. My mind just is not where it should be. envy

Shower, shave if necessary, antiperspirant, talc, moisturise limbs, moisturise face and neck, light foundation, concealer for eye bags, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara, blusher, lip liner [oops! just run out], lipstick. 'Product' through hair, a squirt of 'fragrance' and I'm up and away. Oh yes I get dressed too grin. It does add to my suitcase when I go away for a night or two!

I shower, but I don't have a beauty routine. Whether I apply make-up or do anything more than a splosh of moisturiser and a sloosh of handcream (and deodorant. of course) depends what I'm doing and where I'm going. Whatever it is and however long it takes, beautiful is not where I end up.

Yawn - roll over - quick wee - back to bed for pot of tea [served with a smile by husband] - bird-watch through bedroom window - listen to Radio 4 and dream a little - "leap from my bed" - wash - moisturise with lashings of Nivea - clean teeth - brush hair into a high-top bun - eat porridge and banana - do crossword with husband - thank my lucky stars for another day in Kintyre...

Loo, brush teeth, wash & condition hair, shower, depilate as necessary, apply deodorant then serum & moisturiser to face & neck, body serum & moisturiser to chest & limbs, blow dry hair (no products at all), dress, make up only if going out.

Never used to leave the house without make up but these days find that an extra few minutes in bed in the morning and at night [not having to clean make up off] is more sensible. Wake up at seven and I'm at work by 7.45. However, today I had to have my new passport photo taken and it took @ 90 minutes to put the 'face' on [I've been dreading this photo; passport photos are always a shock but, the older you get the worse the shock is; is that REALLY me?]. Actually didn't look too bad [albeit after using half a stick of touche eclat]. Think I'll have a bit of botox before the next one.....or a complete 'Joan Rivers'......

grannyactivist - please pass on the name of your special shampoo - my hair is getting so fine now I have a job to keep it in shape unless I wash it every day and that does it no favours at all. I usually use an all-in-one Pantene or Elvive but would pay out for a better one if I know it comes recommended.

I, too, have now retired from work so I leave the make-up until later in the morning. Shower, wash hair if I can't get away with it for another day, then body lotion, foot cream and deodorant. Face gets day cream and eye lotion, then it's off to face the world.

Grannyactivist, please tell us name of the shampoo

jeni Wed 21-Mar-12 20:40:15

Oh no. I always get dressed but it might be 1pm! Even more horror! I just find bed the most comfy place! And why get up if theres nothing to do?

Annobel Wed 21-Mar-12 21:05:20

Greatnan Wed 21-Mar-12 22:09:12

Run bath whilst straightening bed , get in bath, soap body, wash face just with water, rinse body, get out, dry, dress, clean teeth, brush hair, put cheap cream on shins and heels. 10 - 15 minutes.
I trim the sides and front of my hair myself and get a cut at the hairdresers about twice a year.
It never took me more than 30 minutes even in the days when I wore make-up and blow-dried my hair. I prefer to spend my time reading or walking and my money on trave.

Wash, clean teeth, get dressed. Takes about half an hour. Unless it`s Sunday, or a day without little grandson, then it`s lounge about in dressing gown till nearly lunchtime, then the aforementioned routine, but a bath instead of a wash.

Anagram Thu 22-Mar-12 21:20:20

Why do we assume we've got dirty enough to bath/shower every day? When I was a child we only had one bath a week, and I'm sure I got dirtier in those days! grin

jeni Thu 22-Mar-12 21:44:37

I find my skin gets far too dry if I shower or bath every day. I now have about one every other day!

Anagram Thu 22-Mar-12 22:05:49

Hooray! Me too! I can come out of the closet and not feel like a (dirty) freak - thanks, Jeni.
