......and how long does it take ?
Mine is shower, moisturize anything that's a bit dry,
brush over bit of 'minerals' make-up, lip gloss, brush hair, brush teeth. 10 minutes tops

I get up before 7am most days read the paper for couple of hours and watch news/catch up GN and 3/4 brew then Liz Earle face care and shower.hair up in pony or plait and quick blast of foundation and lip gloss.jeans on and t-shirt or if going out girly blouse, thats about it nothing major but every 5/6 weeks have nails/eyebrows done .

I could not go out until I have used my moisturiser, then eye cream, foundation, mascara and lippy and this does not take long to do anyway are we not worth the few minutes it takes to care for our skin.

orijen - far from thinking I am 'not worth it' I don't use any make-up because I don't give a toss about my appearance and my skin is fine without any creams and lotions.
I don't have my daily bath to get clean - I just love the feel of the water on my limbs - it is so relaxing, especially with a scented candle and a cup of tea!
I am very frugal though - after my bath I wash my clothes in the water and then I use it to flush the lavatory. Good for both my water bill and the environment.

On work days -Up at 6am, shower incl hair wash and conditioner, using Boots Naked, meant to have less nasties, and whilst showering use Liz earle Cleanse and polish which i've used for about 10 years and love, my only extravagance, (when I retire may have to find a cheaper substitute. ) Then serum and face cream from Aldi, very cheap, then start doing sandwiches, and do makeup in between. Mac concealer on red nose,+ a little pressed powder- cream Barbara Daly blusher, No 7 taupe eyeshadow, quick blast of hairdryer, sit and chat to husband for half hour whilst drinking hot lemon and watching birds feeding, with cats on lap. Then off to work about 7 45. (oh yes, somewhere along there I got dressed also)

Non work days, if its nice, straight out in garden in jim jams at 6am, do a bit of gardening, get all muddy, scare the postman as no makeup, wander around happily, if nothng planned may not get showered and dressed till 11. Then put washing on, incl pyjamas!

Am I the only one to struggle to get out of bed before 9 a.m.? shock
I don't start work until 10 so it's a bit of a task to shower, hair wash, moisturise and make-up before going down to make tea! Back to the bedroom, dry hair, get dressed and insert earrings (I feel undressed without them!), then off to work, leaving OH either still in bed or just about surfacing.

Phew!

Annobel Tue 27-Mar-12 21:21:41

Funny thing, Anagram, while I was working I had no trouble getting up and out. Since I retired, it has become increasingly difficult to heave myself out of bed but try to discipline myself to do so at 8.30. Stiff joints don't help.

jeni Tue 27-Mar-12 21:31:06

Yes! I'm surprised youre up so early! I struggle to get out of bed before 11 am unless I'm working that day grin

sunflowersuffolk Tue 27-Mar-12 22:03:59

I'm up early as my husband goes to work, and I get up with him. But I am a "lark" anyway, and wake when the birds do, but in winter if I could, I wouldn't be up until 8.30. But I'm in bed by 10pm.

Anagram Tue 27-Mar-12 22:17:12

Oh, thank you Jeni! I am not alone.....grin

I'd stay in bed all day if I could. And then stay up half the night. But I start work quite early so I have to live an existence that is alien to my body clock. I used to have a small nap in the afternoon, but don't seem to be able to fit it in any more. I so want to have a morning where I get up when I wake up with no alarm being set, but that doesn't even happen at the weekend because the S.O. stays over at the weekend and he's a morning person. I know the early morning is a great time of day, but it's not for me!

Anagram Tue 27-Mar-12 23:03:51

Absolutely with you there, crimson! I know I should go to bed earlier, but I just don't want to!

I have read various routines and feel quite tired and in need of a lie-down grin It is 10.30, I'm in my PJs and as usual on the computer!
To call my getting up a "beauty routine" would be a bit of a laugh. Tea in bed, newspaper, crossword and sujiko. That's the first hour sorted. Check emails/GN anything else - that's probably another hour sorted.
Oh, shower and like some others, see if I can get away with not washing hair- every other day is plenty- moisturiser (Liz Earle or Clarins), body lotion for the smell (!) and dress. Once dressed, tinted moisturiser, blusher, fingers through hair and you can see why it's not exactly a "beauty routine".
Grace on the other hand, gets up with a long yawn, stretches her front legs, stretches her back legs, quick shake, out to the garden for a pee and she's ready for the day- looking gorgeous. We could learn a lot from dogs and cats.smile

crimson Wed 28-Mar-12 14:38:26

Oh I love the way my whippet does that stretching thing! And, yes, she always looks all elegant and sophisticated [except for her floppy ear]. And she always looks as if she's got kohl round her eyes. Most she ever needs beauty wise is a wipe over with a cloth!

GoldenGran Wed 28-Mar-12 15:07:19

I don't quite do a Melanie, but I do the whole makeup thing, I rarely show my face outside without it, it's just habit. I swim every weekday at 7.30, then shower and do makeup, so am ready for the day by 8.30, hair washed and blow dried before I leave for home.

GoldenGran Wed 28-Mar-12 15:09:11

Just reread thread, melanie was back in July!

Cat wakes me up about 6am, by walking across my head. I get up and feed her, then go back to bed with a cuppa and read till 8.30. After getting up and checking all the necessaries (emails, GN, Facebook and online banking), I wash, put prescribed Dibrobase moisturiser on face, (can't wear anything else, or skin flares up) dress, and, if I'm going anywhere I put a bit of eyeliner on lower lid and a lick of mascara on top lashes and a bit of lippy. If I'm not going anywhere, it's the moisturiser only Always wear perfume and earrings, though - I'd feel wrong without them. smile

When I was off with broken wrist for 3 months, husband was also off for 1 month and gradually we were getting up later, its really nice to sleep till you wake naturally. For me was usually 8.30 - 9am. Once I'm awake, I get fidgety so have to get up. Love being up early and wandering round garden on a lovely spring day.
