......and how long does it take ?
Mine is shower, moisturize anything that's a bit dry,
brush over bit of 'minerals' make-up, lip gloss, brush hair, brush teeth. 10 minutes tops

Grannyactivist, please tell us name of the shampoo

I, too, have now retired from work so I leave the make-up until later in the morning. Shower, wash hair if I can't get away with it for another day, then body lotion, foot cream and deodorant. Face gets day cream and eye lotion, then it's off to face the world.

grannyactivist - please pass on the name of your special shampoo - my hair is getting so fine now I have a job to keep it in shape unless I wash it every day and that does it no favours at all. I usually use an all-in-one Pantene or Elvive but would pay out for a better one if I know it comes recommended.

Never used to leave the house without make up but these days find that an extra few minutes in bed in the morning and at night [not having to clean make up off] is more sensible. Wake up at seven and I'm at work by 7.45. However, today I had to have my new passport photo taken and it took @ 90 minutes to put the 'face' on [I've been dreading this photo; passport photos are always a shock but, the older you get the worse the shock is; is that REALLY me?]. Actually didn't look too bad [albeit after using half a stick of touche eclat]. Think I'll have a bit of botox before the next one.....or a complete 'Joan Rivers'......

Loo, brush teeth, wash & condition hair, shower, depilate as necessary, apply deodorant then serum & moisturiser to face & neck, body serum & moisturiser to chest & limbs, blow dry hair (no products at all), dress, make up only if going out.

Yawn - roll over - quick wee - back to bed for pot of tea [served with a smile by husband] - bird-watch through bedroom window - listen to Radio 4 and dream a little - "leap from my bed" - wash - moisturise with lashings of Nivea - clean teeth - brush hair into a high-top bun - eat porridge and banana - do crossword with husband - thank my lucky stars for another day in Kintyre...

I shower, but I don't have a beauty routine. Whether I apply make-up or do anything more than a splosh of moisturiser and a sloosh of handcream (and deodorant. of course) depends what I'm doing and where I'm going. Whatever it is and however long it takes, beautiful is not where I end up.

goldengirl Sat 23-Jul-11 10:27:54

Shower, shave if necessary, antiperspirant, talc, moisturise limbs, moisturise face and neck, light foundation, concealer for eye bags, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara, blusher, lip liner [oops! just run out], lipstick. 'Product' through hair, a squirt of 'fragrance' and I'm up and away. Oh yes I get dressed too grin. It does add to my suitcase when I go away for a night or two!

ElseG Sat 23-Jul-11 09:02:24

Wish I could get through the routine in 10 minutes, those days are long gone. now it takes about 45 minutes and even then I might forget something like hair wash or moisturise. My mind just is not where it should be. envy

Back to SS and S - what is it about men and their daily ritual of the first "S".

Soupy Sat 23-Jul-11 08:14:58

Oooh shower, wash hair, clean teeth, deoderant, moisturiser for face then Superdrug Vitamin E cream to arms and legs (best one I've found and completely non-sticky).

Never been a make up sort of person but like nice perfume and am currently wearing one of the Estee Lauder ones.

I've used Liz Earle eye cream in the past but don't think it really helped the bags so don't bother now. Sometimes I like the idea of a few hours spent with someone giving me a facial, massage etc but it seems extremely indulgent!

pompa Sat 23-Jul-11 08:12:06

LOL Helshea, that's my line, SS&S, but as my hair has gone walkabout, the last S is shave.

Gally Sat 23-Jul-11 08:09:11

My Dad used to say ' just off to push back my ears'. I'm a bit like that; cup of tea, shower, wash hair every other day, blow dry, teeth, slap on body moisturiser, cream on face, breakfast - 10 minutes. If I did a Melanie I'd never get going until lunch time!

helshea Sat 23-Jul-11 07:29:28

Oh to be a man ...Just a S S and Shampoo wink as my Dad would say!

yogagran Fri 22-Jul-11 22:53:46

Cup of coffee taken back to bed with cup of tea for DH, chat for half an hour about yesterday and plans for today, shower, moisturise on face and neck, brush teeth, brush hair and get dressed. Then out for walk and "do" horses

Melanie Fri 22-Jul-11 22:22:15

Right! Brace yourselves!

Shower, wash hair, conditioner, dry hair with volumiser, set hair on heated rollers. Do make up:- Moisurise, Beauty Flash Balm, Foundation, cover dark circles with lighter, shade nose, eyeliner, eyelash primer, mascara, eyebrows, lipstick, sealer, powder, dab all over with damp tissue, maybe blusher, perhaps some highlighter, Brush out hair. Get dressed. Good Day one hour, bad day 2 hours. Never go out without done hair and make up. Won't even answer the door. blush

susiecb Mon 06-Jun-11 09:59:09

I've used all the big 'makes' over the years and the best skin i have ever had is now courtesy of Liz Earle products and a monthly facial must be a good make though e.g. Elemis, Dermalogica, Clarins. eaty lost of fruit, chocoalte and gin which is largely water anyway!
