Calling all sausage shapes

I am not terrifically huge a size 18 but my shape reminds me of a plump sausage.

Full bust then more or less straight e.g. sausage down from there without much of a hint of a waist.

Legs are not very big so hips bulge out in comparison with top of legs.

Hope I have painted the picture well.

My problem therefore (among many) is trousers. I have to buy ones big enough to go round the invisible waist then the legs are usually huge and baggy.

I would like to find somewhere that caters for people like myself. Elasticated waists I don't like.

Occasionally I am lucky and get a pair to fit reasonably well but instead of going back and buying a couple more I forget or leave it too long and they are then out of stock.

Well, have just joined gransnet after becoming a step-gran, and hadn't thought to find so many hilarious comments about body shape! Had thought I was the only one with totally odd body - can't get used to looking a bit like a bouncy ball round the middle when trying to exercise after years of being a size 10. Am losing weight as must get fitter for baby when she's older! PS have found good trousers at Elvi and, surprisingly, Monsoon, who are now selling larger sizes.

GrandmaRuth blush every word is true.

I would consider converting to Islam, but only really as an excuse to adopt the burkha, (sp?), but I think fashion based conversions are probably frowned on.

Yes, overthehill, I go commando normally. Only exception is if I have to go out and am wearing a full skirt on a windy day. Even I have my limits!
