Crocs

I know someone on here has waxed lyrical about Crocs in the past [sorry but can't recall who it was] but I bought my first pair a few weeks ago and have now bought another pair to take on holiday. I can't begin to say how comfortable and practical they are. I did buy the first pair just to wear in the garden but I became a bit precious about them, hence the second pair [in a colour that goes with a lot of my clothes ie black!]

I once read that the holes in Crocs are to allow your dignity to escape grin

C'mon Flower; I have put this in the 'Style and beauty' section y'know grin.

I think once you have them on, you no longer care about your dignity! It's a real struggle to go back into tighter shoes afterwards.

I have got to the stage where I truly do not care what my shoes look like, I just want them to be comfortable. Crocs look brilliant and I wish I could wear them.

Your feet don't move about much in Crocs, because the 'pimples' on the soles grip the soles of your feet. I have found them true to size as have my GC - eldest GS now takes the same size as I do. There is no problem accommodating my wide feet.

I haven't got pimples on the soles of my feet! grin My best friend waxes lyrical about Crocs. I just cannot see the attraction - apart from the little things that you can pop in the holes to make them individual

I suppose I cannot talk I have now got 6 pair of the same style toe loop sandals I have been buying them for the last 10 years or so. 2 pair in beige and 3 pair in antique gold (which is a bronze colour) they are so comfortable that its either them or nothing in the summer. My daughter despairs of me but care I not. They are 'Jollys' Capri.

Comfort is the attraction. And colourfulness. And one in the eye for style snobs.

numberplease Wed 16-Jul-14 17:11:28

And for price snobs if you buy them in Primark, like what I did!

They're so ugly they're beautiful. I may make up my own decorations. Minnie Mouse bows for the summer and baubles in winter.

Years ago we had a French student staying with us who was incredibly stylish. She wore Doc Martens and desert boots most of the time; my daughter learned a lot about style from her, although the desert boots never seemed to make if, fashionwise over here the way the Dockers did [they still living in my loft].

I think they make the feet look big and ugly !!
Not my cuppa tea at all !

Tegan Wed 16-Jul-14 18:01:16

Yes but big feet balance out my thunderthighs! And when I'm wearing them no one can see my bunion wink.

Nonu Wed 16-Jul-14 18:17:28

Tegan grin

BUT I got haven't^Thunder thighs in fact they are quite slim !!

They are not ugly. Fact.

thatbags Wed 16-Jul-14 20:17:05

It's tight shoes that make feet look big and ugly, bulging out.

Ana Wed 16-Jul-14 20:19:07

And tight shoes that give you bunions in the first place!

thatbags Wed 16-Jul-14 20:20:08

Perzackly! as my wee brother used to say.

I love them to. It took some convincing, I thought they were a gimmick when I first saw them.

I have a pair in doors I wear as slippers and throw them off to go up stairs as I think they could be dangerous on the stairs.

I have another pair in our caravan for going over the shower block etc.

I bought the first pair after I slipped over on wet grass in the Birkenstock type I wore.

I HATE them!! I tried them and my feet became so sweaty that I couldnt wear them anymore. All I can think of now when I see them is horrid, smelly feet slithering around all over the place! For comfort give Alegria shoes and sandals a go. Full price is pretty heavy but they can be found on Ebay at half price or le. Fabulous footwear for quirkiness, comfort and style. My feet have become so accustomed to the comfort of these hoes that i can no longer wear ordinary shoess --no.. I dont want to wear ordinary shoes with thin soles and feel every pebble on the ground.

Your first three words, GUM, glad I am not the only one, was beginning to feel a little lonely out here .
