Where do you wish you could shop!?

Hi Gransnet!
I am a student at the London School of Fashion and I have been given the task of creating a new sub brand within a store to cater for woman age 65+ and I was wondering if you could help!
From what I understand, it is quite hard to find clothes that you like on the high street.
So my question is, which stores do you already shop in for clothes (including supermarkets)? and where do you wish had a range that targeted your age group?
All opinions would be very useful, thank you!

What do you mean by fly spray? Is it the one I've seen that specifically targets moths? I know it says it doesn't harm the fabric but I've been loathe to use it thus far.

Tegan, I keep all woollies, with or without cashmere, in ziplock bags to keep the moths out. I did find some moth holes in a rather nice cashmere scarf last year which taught me a lesson. Thanks janer for introducing me to Woolovers. I've been spreading the information round my nearest and dearest.

Join the Woolovers appreciation society anno and janer! I love their cashmere and merino and in summer, their silk and cotton mix. Getting to be a bit of an addiction!!

Noted anno smile

In answer to the OP, after today's brouhaha, anywhere but France. Preferably UK.

So you don't need a tigerskin rug, ffinnochio?

Rome! Lovely clothes, but the prices?

ffinnochio Thu 13-Nov-14 18:27:11

Elegran grin. Think I'll pass on that.

tegan I use various, I get them out the day before I want to wear them and air them. You can use covers instead, but I can't be bothered. I only do it once a year, in the late Spring when I don't tend to wear them as often. Keeping them clean stops moths but I don't like to wash them too often, in case they bobble more.

I agree that fashion shouldn't be age specific - but I do wish more summer tops had longer sleeves - preferably bat wing to match the shape of my arms!

That's why I have started buying from Phase Eight, they always have a range of flattering tops with sleeves that are smart enough to be worn anywhere, but are really easy to look after. I just wish they were cheaper. I've started customising clothes, buying dresses on eBay and cutting them up to tunic length and tops with long sleeves and shortening them to around the elbow. Linen shrugs over sleeveless tops on really hot days.

EAST are among my favourite labels but I also enjoy "finding" labels I have never heard of in small independent shops - usually Scandinavian or German.

Just looked at Phase Eight. (Hadn't noticed them, the shop is in a mall where I don't often go.). Thanks Jane. A bit pricey for me for every day - but there's 20% off until Sunday!

Really, really flattering things for tummies.

I like East too, but I think they are designed for women who are taller than me.
