Front fastening bras

Can anyone tell me where i can buy a front fastening bra that isn't (a) expensive (b) maternity or (c) white and frumpy. I have scanned the major stores and even the internet, but haven't been able to find anything that doesn't come into these categories. I may be getting on in years, but still like pretty, feminine underwear !

You might try what I have done since I broke my elbow at age 19 (it doesn't bend properly now) - get an ordinary bra, do it up at the front, then twizzle it round.

I have always done my bra up at the front and twizzled it round. I have always thought that that was how everyone did it smile

aggie Thu 14-May-15 19:40:22

I tried that but no way would it twizzle sad How did you manage that

Mishap Thu 14-May-15 19:44:18

aggie - this is the principle - after you have done the bra up at the front (with the straps upwards!) you pull the cups round to the front ready to receive the boobs, one on each side! grin

Ana Thu 14-May-15 19:47:42

Yes, that's what I've always done as well. I do, however, reach round the back to undo it when I take it off, but you don't need to.

aggie Thu 14-May-15 19:47:58

well I guessed that , but It won't pull round it is sort of adhering to my rather plump torso

aggie Thu 14-May-15 19:50:35

36 g is that anything to do with the difficulty ?

AshTree Thu 14-May-15 20:06:30

I've always employed that method too, much the easiest way. aggie do the bra up at the front at waist height, then twizzle it round and heave it up. Unless, of course, your waist is larger than your boobies, in which case this might not work grin.

NfkDumpling Thu 14-May-15 20:09:20

My waist is larger than my boobies - and the twizzle method works for me!

aggie Thu 14-May-15 21:05:04

I'll try it again in the morning and report back if I haven't strangled myself smile

AshTree Thu 14-May-15 21:12:15

Well there you go NfkDumpling! Come to think of it, my waist is about the same size as my boobies and I don't have a problem.
Good luck aggie. If we never hear from you again, it was nice knowing ya flowers

loopylou Thu 14-May-15 21:19:58

grin
You'll make the headlines aggie !

I sympathise and well remember trying having to do this when I mucked up my shoulder.

Mishap Thu 14-May-15 21:23:22

Perhaps this is the time to ask GHQ if we can have a facility for uploading videos grin

When I wear one of the all in one stretchy bras I step into it and pull it up. smile

Broke my arm in January and putting on a bra one handed is impossible. So have resorted to pull on things. I just step in and pull up. So comfy, think ill bin the proper ones. grin

Sprinkle torso with talc to let the bra slide round more easily?

Isla Bras. Made for America from China but sold cheaply on ebay. Type in Isla Bras and Angelcitiz will come up. They have quality bras from £8 free postage. They have the cross back with clip fastening between boobs. Give fantastic support with comfort and give you a nice uplift. Come in black and nude with a few pastels. Downside? Expect to wait 2 weeks for delivery from China and, if like me, you will buy a lot . I have abut 25 to see me out.

Fasten bra and put it on feet first.

aggie Fri 15-May-15 15:30:45

well I tried it , I was in pjs till after lunch and had my shower got the offending garment and fastened it at the front , no it wouldn't move , it got lost in the spare tyres and at one stage I was reaching for the scissors , but I did get it off and tried the fasten and step in ......... nope ........... stepped out , by this time I needed another shower . So it was fall into it and reach round the back , sitting here exhausted

I have ordered a La Isla bra! They look rather nice.

I had a quick look at the Sainsbury's ones while I was out shopping - Dayglo anyone? I felt like looking for my dark glasses. Neon pinks, oranges, reds and greens for underwear and nightwear.

I think not. hmm

Ariadne Fri 15-May-15 16:58:30

off to look...smile

loopylou Fri 15-May-15 17:41:44

Migraine-inducing colours janer hmm

Certainly not for me! M&S isn't much better.....

loopylou Fri 15-May-15 17:43:17

Never had the need for hi-viz undies and nightclothes grin!

Might be useful as overwear if you're a cyclist or runner!
