Facial loofah

Just bought a small facial loofah which I use with some lavender facial cream. My skin feels lovely and clean and will now be part of my cleansing regime. It only cost £3.50.

Anyone else use something similar?

You're 68! (looked at your profile) What you wanna do stuff like that for? grin

Like the sound of the lavender cream though.

Well Jing I like to keep my skin looking as good as I can for my age.

I am not sure if you are saying I am too old or too young to be doing it ? hmm

Yes the lavender facial milk is made by Avalon Organics and I buy it at the local health store.

Well it's better than the plastic beads in some of these exfoliation products.

Yes Nellie I hate the feeling of gravel on my face with some facial creams. I am always worried a piece will go in my eye.

Crikey, I don't like the idea of a facial loofah! Sounds a bit drastic, and I'm not sure it would do my thread veins or eyebags much good...shock

I use circular movements and don't press too hard Ana but I avoid my eyes.

Nankate What I should have made clear about why I don't like these "beads" is that the very tiny plastic beads in lot of cosmetics get into the oceans and are causing significant ecological damage.

Well, if it suits you and your skin, fair enough. Don't you have to remove eye makeup separately beforehand though?

I find soap and water is really good for cleaning my face. I do it morning and night, regularly. Works a treat.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jul-15 22:13:09

No eye makeup to remove. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jul-15 22:13:35

No makeup most days. shock

Ana Fri 24-Jul-15 23:06:11

Can't go out without mascara, my lashes are invisible without it! shock

Yes Ana I do remove my eye make up first and use some cucumber cleanser on a cotton wool pad before I wash my face. Was it you who recommended the cucumber cleanser on another thread - it is cheap and works well?

My skin routine may seem rather a palaver but it is a way to wind down at night before bed. The benefit is I have relatively good facial skin with not too many wrinkles. I wish I had taken care of the rest of my body which doesn't quite match my face grin

Some folks might wonder why I bother at my age, but my Mum looked good up until the end and I suppose I am trying to follow in her footsteps, but I will never be as stylish as her.

I've used a small facial loofah for a few years along with a 'bufpuf'. Only once a week though nowadays.
I always remove makeup at night, usually with facial wipes and in the morning I use a facial wash followed by vitamin E cream.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother though as clearly I'm invisible! grin

I use a lovely cleanser from Neals Yard. Its based on Frankincense (supposed to be good for older skin....anyhoo, it comes with a muslin cloth that you use and that has a gentle loofah type action.

I'm a 'Liz Earle' girlhmm & use the cleanse and polish face wash with a muslin cloth and the ex-foliator once a week. I am 65 and it is up to me to decide how I want to maintain my cleansing routines! What has age got to do with it jingle ???

Coolgran65 Sat 25-Jul-15 23:18:24

A baby wipe and whatever face cream comes to hand....

Alea Sat 25-Jul-15 23:27:27

Dermaflannel from Bravura London. Exfoliates more or less depending on pressure used

Girl of the Limberlost was one of my favourite books although I can't remember who wrote it.

girlofthelimberlost Tue 01-Sept-15 20:08:00

A Girl of the Limberlost was my favourite book when I read it at around 14.
It was written by an American, Gene Stratton-Porter. I have recently downloaded onto my kindle (it's free to download at Amazon)

Why have I not heard of that book? Will have a look on Amazon/kindle. smile
