Good morning all,

Although my eyebrows are still very much in evidence (I get them waxed as without my glasses it's pretty random when I pluck them!) I noticed on a recent discussion that quite a few GN'ers were saying that they needed to fill theirs in.

I saw this product in a catalogue that fell out of the newspaper the other day, the product is also available on Amazon and seems to have very good reviews.

www.amazon.co.uk/WunderBrow-Perfect-Eyebrows-Under-Minutes/dp/B00UYY2GSQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442299005&sr=8-1&keywords=wunderbrow

It does come in other colours too.

My friend has lost all her eyebrow hair, she pencils them in, which is strange because at 77 she still has a head of thick wavy chestnut hair.
Mine are still there, dark brown. I pluck out the odd white one.

Icyalittle I've just bought and tried the Boots Sculpting pencil in grey and it's perfect! Thank you!
I'm a 'has been redhead', now white, like silver scarlet, and brown pencils and mascara are just too 'orangey', so I'm really pleased.

Am I really the only one who CBA? Mind you I rarely go out so it doesn't matter. (Feeling a bit grumpy today)

What's CBA please? I'm amazed at all this eyebrow stuff. Feels like a whole world I knew nothing about. Maybe I'm CB A too but don't know what it is. Oh yes I've just worked it out!,! I'm definitely it and proud of it. I have two eyebrows but they're mostly behind my fringe except when I've been to the hairdressers but that's another area of CBA!

I'm using Fabulous Brow Shape from the Look Fabulous Forever range which is easy to use and stays put. It also lasts ages!

I received my Wunderbrow today. I am disappointed with it. The brush supplied is very thick and I found the results messy. Using a fine paintbrush helped a bit, it coloured the actual hairs, but it was difficult to get a neat line where there are no hairs. Picture shows one brow done and one in its natural state. I think I shall be going back to my usual Revlon pencil.

It looks quite good to me Shysal in the photo anyway!

Awful photo! It looks as though I have extended the brow down level with the outer corner of my eye, but it is just a shadow! blush

close ups with phone cameras are never flattering. That's what I tell myself anyway wink

Update on the Wunderbrow.
When I was using a magnifying mirror and bright light for plucking chin hairs blush last night, I noticed that my eyebrows were green! I had read something similar in a review. Product has been removed and pack ditched! The stripes I painted on my hand are still there though!

Aargh! shockshock
Is anyone else getting a weird picture accompanied by the words 'how to look chic over 50'?
I don't think any of us need lessons from that particular person!

After reading Phoenix post about WunderBrow, I looked on line, saw it on Amazon, read the reviews, sent for it Thursday, received it Friday and I am thrilled with it. Thank you Phoenix.

I think there's some good reviews and tutorials on YouTube about a few of the newer style products.

I use a MAC felt tip and that works well. Saw your message about green brows Shysal - I also have a felt tip eyeliner in dark green. My eyesight is not so good either, and I picked up the eyeliner pen and carefully coloured my eyebrows green! The light in my bedroom isn't so good so I always have a quick check in the bathroom before heading out. Thank goodness I did - 2 bristly caterpillars hovering above my eyes! Now have a white sticker on the MAC one!

ja yes, I am - is it Elton John? hmm

If I plucked out all the white hairs from my eyebrows there wouldn't be much left, strange because my hair is still dark!
DD dyed them for me earlier this year, but I don't think I could do it myself, it was on and off in a flash and she didn't flick it all over my face which I would probably do!

I have beautiful eyebrows. It's a pity about the rest of my face! grin

Avon do some good eyebrow pencils at reasonable prices. I must admit I also use brown mascara and brush it gently over my brows to hide the grey hairs !!

shysal Sun 20-Sept-15 17:26:43

I have about an inch left of my Revlon pencil, and the ones they sell now are a gel type. All the others I have tried are either not the right colour or the wrong texture. I shall have a look at the Avon ones.

dustyangel Sun 20-Sept-15 17:37:21

Can anyone recommend a good eyebrow dye? I used to be able to get a good one in Boots but it has completely changed over the last year or so and doesn't last more than 48 hours now.

I'm also a victim of the 70s and as I have got older I have so many white hairs in my eyebrows. These seem very fragile and, when taking off my eye makeup they come away on my cotton wool pad! Hence I have very few!
I love Yves St Laurent eye pencil and the one I use is a soft, grey/brown, perfect for faded blonde/grey/brown. I can't tell you the number as I'm almost through it, but it will be easily found on the counter.
I've also bought the Benefit eyebrow palette; this is brilliant when you have a little more time to spend on your 'slap'.
I am going to try the 'Wunderbrow', which I understand is stocked by Boots.
I won't buy online until I've tried this out so I'm hoping that I can get this in Boots.

I am 62 and my eyebrows and eyelashes were thinning. First I bought RapidLash which you apply like an eyeliner near to the base of the lashes. After a few weeks the results were amazing! However, once I discontinued use they went back to how they were. So I did more research on Amazon and found there is also a RapidBrow that comes with a mascara type brush and you apply it where you require new growth. I read some of the reviews and a few said they use it on their lashes too. So I tried it out and my brows are better than they were even when I was younger and my lashes are more lush too although they need a coat of mascara as the tips are virtually colourless. I was extremely pleased with the results. Then I did more research and discovered that some ladies have then used Bel Essence oil as a moisturiser and when they go over the eye area the results previously achieved with the RapidBrow remain in place so I have ordered that now to test it's efficacy. The long and short of it is thet RapidLash and RapidBrow both do what it says on the tin but you have to keep using it if only a few times a week. Hope this helps.
