I needed some standard straigt leg jeans or trousers, so I looked at the M&S web site before visiting the store. AHH why doesn't it do the pinch thing, I had to click on each item and it took for ever, I gave up.

In store I got fed up with having to look at charts on the wall as the jeans were usually in different places and not under the charts, why not a few paper hand charts to show the different styles. Size 16 medium was in short supply and anyway the ranges fit very differently, the legs on Indigo regular are much longer than medium M&S, Classic too generous in their cut for me, perhaps its not possible, but some indication would have saved a lot of time. In the end I had spent so long walking around, because the ranges are spread out, that I didnt care what colour or material, I just wanted a pair of jeans and to get out.

I mentioned my problem to an assistant who suggested going to www.mandsviews.com. I did, but I couldn't work out how to state my problem simply, has anyone else used that site?

Oh dear! I go onto the German-(English speaking) website and it works well. I order from a desktop Apple computer. They deliver within 3 days and I pay by invoice which comes from a firm in Switzerland. Obviously they have found someone well organised for the financial side and the web site. I only pay for things I have bought and the rest is returned by post. Sometimes I have no postage to pay. BUT it took them some time to reach this point. They just have to pay for specialist organistion abroad, the competition is too fierce.

Since about 2 years ago I can't stand anything scratchy like wool or cashmere. M&S do some things in Cashmillon, ordinary plain jumpers and cardgans. I've now got a collection of short sleeved ones in various colours for under jackets and I pay about 10 - 20 Euros for them. ( £ 7 - 14 )
I never buy their jeans as jeans are such a minefield.
When in the UK I visit their stores but it is often such a mess of different clothes bundled up together, I rarely buy anything.

I was browsing men's coats in a local MS the other day at a pretty quiet time and an assistant asked me if he could help. I could not resist saying that it would help if the sizes indicated on the hangers matched the actual sizes of the coats on them and that the different styles were not mixed up on the rails. I added that the impression given was that the staff did not care about how the stock was presented.

The actual range and quality of the men's coats was very good.
