If you have bought any clothes, shoes/boots etc in the last week, thought it may be fun to say what the item was, where you bought it,and if it's for something special, tell us? It may give us some good ideas.smile

Today I bought a new bra and after the sucess of the first one two more M&S heattec thermal tops. Snug as a bug I will be this winter.

I must throw out the two old bras with withered elastene and not keep wearing them. Trouble is when I take them off they go back in the wash and are to hand when I need one in the morning.

I have the bargain of the century (in my eyes anyway!), a M&S cashmere polo neck sweater on the Sale rail for £10 reduced from £159.99 shock

I don't care how cold it gets now!

Kayaking? respect!

rosesarered Tue 03-Nov-15 10:14:45

I have got loads of ideas from reading all the posts on here, and am off to town now to look for a warm jumper and some new black jeans ( I may be some time!)I will also pop into M&S for a coffee and pastry as it's my DD2's turn to pay! She will be hunting for jeggings in varying colours, but as she is a size 10 they look fine on her.

annsixty Tue 03-Nov-15 10:22:58

Never mind respect for kayaking, respect for being so organised with Christmas shopping!! I have sent my DD money for winter coats as that is what the GC want and I wouldn't dare choose those but that is the extent of my planning.

Coolgran65 Tue 03-Nov-15 10:40:29

Yesterday, almost last of Christmas shopping gifts, via Amazon and local shops. Already on their way to family overseas...... excellent free delivery including trikes and other bulky items.

Today, two lampshades for newly decorated stairs/landing.

Only DH to sort... the man who has everything, can't think of anything he wants... And also has a birthday end November.

I am brain numb thinking of gifts for him, as are dc.

Black jeans from Matalan.

They would make great material for dusters as when I wore them they attracted every stray hair, fluff etc. imaginable! confused

I've now washed them using fabric conditioner hoping it will help.

Anyone else solved this problem or is it just inevitable?

NotTooOld Tue 03-Nov-15 11:28:56

Posie - I have some black cotton trousers from M and S that are exactly the same. Strange as other black cotton trousers seem fairly ok. Hope the fabric conditioner works.

What have I bought this week? Three books from Amazon that were on offer - three for £10 and free postage. I was stuck on a third when I spotted a New Scientist book purporting to answer scientific questions in plain language. Will be good for my 14 year old grandson for Christmas although he probably doesn't need the answer in plain language as he is turning into a boffin....hmm

NotTooOld Tue 03-Nov-15 11:32:37

Ooh, sorry, just read the OP and realised this thread is meant to be for clothes. I bought some dark green jeggings from M and S so I think I have every colour now. Sooooo comfortable although I had to go up a size which makes the legs looser, which is good.

Cambia Tue 03-Nov-15 12:32:17

Reiker ankle boots in blue when I was desperate for a new pair of ankle boots in black! I love Reiker they are just so comfortable and stylish.

M&S leggings with stirrups so they don't need tucking into boots all the time and no draughty gaps!

Thermal top from M&S - going to be lovely and snug this winter

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Nov-15 13:15:21

I picked up my order for 2 pairs of M and S jimjams for DD for Xmas yesterday. On the way home it dawned on me that I had bought completely the wrong size. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Nov-15 13:17:05

I would like to wear those M & S leggings with stirrups. Would be good on my bike. But I have got rather chunky legs. hmm Not fat - just, well, sturdy.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Nov-15 13:18:33

No. The thread can be for any purchases. Sort of shared retail therapy. smile

rrr won't mind.

rosesarered Tue 03-Nov-15 16:14:38

Don't mind at all!grin

rosesarered Tue 03-Nov-15 16:18:24

Didn't get black jeans from M&S, but found some Per Una straight leg ones in a deep indigo colour, which fitted well and a good heavy warm denim with a bit of stretch.Bought a couple of meals in the food dept but no cake, as I won't get into the jeans if I'm not a bit careful.

rosequartz Tue 03-Nov-15 19:13:25

posie I have a warm, long knitted cardigan from CC - unfortunately it contains some angora. It's impossible to wear it with anything black, navy etc as it leaves rabbit hairs over everything.

NotTooOld Tue 03-Nov-15 22:25:23

rose - oh yes, even a bit of angora is terrible with dark colours, I find. I tend to avoid it now.

I bought a long navy waistcoat from TKMaxx recently. It's a good length and has pockets, which is good. It is half wool, half acrylic and nice and warm. Should be useful with lots of things. It was £24.99 but I can't remember what it was reduced from.

rosequartz Tue 03-Nov-15 22:33:04

I was looking for something similar in my TKMaxx - nothing there
It's very hit and miss, isn't it.

NotTooOld Wed 04-Nov-15 10:22:55

Very hit and miss, rose. Normally I find nothing but this time I was with my sister who is happy to spend ages looking through the rails - it was she who spotted the one I bought. If I am in the store with DH I never find anything!

rosesarered Wed 04-Nov-15 10:42:47

That's because DH's have the shopping attention of a gnat, no staying power, always whimpering about sitting down and having a cappuccino.

NotTooOld Wed 04-Nov-15 23:00:46

roses - so true, so very true. And then when you do find something you want to buy they ask

You're not buying that, are you?
How much is it?
Are you sure you need it?

OMG - sad

Elrel Thu 05-Nov-15 10:02:18

Grey top, thin to go under other jumpers, at our huge new M&S which was opened yesterday by Twiggy. Food hall so tempting though unsure how much I'll patronise the prosecco bar!!

rosesarered Thu 05-Nov-15 16:41:00

Well, after lusting after the plum colour Hotter boots ( Mystery style) I surprised myself by liking them in black leather better, when trying them on, so bought the black.Roomy enough to tuck your jeans into, and ultra comfy, so a good buy.Wish I could buy online, but I prefer to try things on in the shop.
