Bought anything new in the last week?

Ann . I did find a nice one despite the trauma of having to look at myself in all my glory in the harsh reality of changing room mirrors!!

Nothing, other than the week's groceries.

A dress for a wedding today. We actually went to buy DH a new suit for the two weddings we are going to in March and I spotted it. It was reduced from £129 to £51, so I'm delighted, as it will do both weddings. (Different guests)
The sales assistant said it complimented my "hour glass figure". Do you think she meant I should lose weight.

A cheap jumper with red and blue flowers from Morrisons which cost £14. I rarely buy stuff to wear from supermarkets but this jumper caught my eye. Now I realise the neck is too high and I can't take it back as I've washed it.

That brought me up with a jolt * Greyduster* and made me ponder when I last bought a swimsuit.
Do they still have legs and are they still knitted??

Sorry that is not something to wear, is it? I am going to buy a new swimsuit today though! I won’t have to lie to him about that!

A new fly line for one of my rods. I am trying to think up ways not to let DH find out how much it cost - he will have a seizure!

Nothing bought as yet today, but DH has just gone into town( I know, was it safe to let him do this?) to buy a new jacket, a Winter jumper, and a stack of new socks.What's the betting that he is gone for most of the day, and comes back with just the socks?

RoseQuartz we really are twins, because I bought a wedding outfit for DD1 and DS1 weddings from that same little outlet designer store as you did, in Swindon and it was all as cheap as chips.I have never spent much in wedding outfits ever, it just seems a waste.

Not this week.....but my friend went with me early on a Saturday morning into the city to look for an outfit for my wedding, not wanting to look mutton/lamb etc. I was 56. First stop was a local shop, not a chain. Second outfit was perfect...absolutely me. Ankle length very simple wafty dress with matching wafty raggedy looking coat, all in plum/aubergine. There was also a perfect hat in the exact shade.
Next door to Debenhams for shoes....nothing. could find shoes ok but not the colour. Took them anyway, went back to the original shop and got them dyed accordingly. The whole lot was under £300 and that included £100 for the hat.

We were home at 11.30am.

It also did ds wedding and then I sold it as a full set for £250.

This was years ago and my dear BF trawled the shops with me as her daughter had got married the year before and she knew what it was like!

We did visit quite a few towns we hadn't been to for years - or at all!

I have to admit rosequartz - I didn't think it would be as difficult as it was.

I spent hours (and hours and hours) going round the shops for an outfit for DD's wedding (trying hard not to clash with the bridesmaids) and ended up going to an outlet a lovely little designer shop in Swindon where I found the whole lot!

Ladies - I have 4 DC (1boy, two girls) and I have waited 45 years for one of them to marry. My middle daughter is taking the plunge on 12th December. I thought i would go to town and buy an outfit that made me look elegant (for the first time in my life). I thought my budget of £500 was fairly generous - until I hit the shops!! Those of you who have done this, which is probably most of you, will know that that amount of money does not go very far. Well, in desperation, I bought a very 'nice' Mother of the Bride outfit in a department store. I wasn't Wowed and I was disappointed and felt rather deflated.
On returning home, I turned on the news and the top story covered the refugees fleeing Syria and about how the bad weather was affecting them.
I watched as the picture showed a poor lady in a wheelchair who was stuck in the mud. What a spoiled brat I am!!! I've sent the money I had left over to one of the many charities handling the crisis.
And I will thoroughly enjoy wearing my very smart outfit to the wedding.

There is a champagne bar at Paddington Station where I used to while away the time waiting from train after trips to see clients! (Didn't put it on expenses though)

Actually, there is a nice eating place in the middle of an M&S not too far away which serves champagne at lunch-time (if they is what you want!) and food which is a bit different to the normal sandwiches, toasties etc.

My DH is great to go shopping with. If I see two things I want and can't make up my mind, he just says ' why don't you get them both'!

Rosearered - sorry you're not near enough to join me in the prosecco bar! I can't quite believe what has mushroomed a few bus stops from home and is much more convenient for shopping for me than Grand Central (grand and central though it is!). GC has JL going for it however, and more!
Plenty of prosecco at the M&S opening and everyone beaming happily from Twiggy to the extra security people. Longbridge (RIP the Austin factory) has been transformed, it was good to meet staff delighted to be able to walk to work rather than commute into the city centre.

Three bottles of The Fountain phyto collagen molecule (for improved skin, hair etc) from Boots. Normally £39.99/bottle (!) but in clearance in local store (with long use by dates) for £6 each. To top it off, on 3 for 2 vitamins offer and I had a 10% off voucher, so all for £10.80!
