I hate my legs!

Does anyone out there have legs like mine? For years I have only worn trousers as although I am not overweight, I hate my legs! I must have had a funny five minutes as I have bought a dress and need to show the world that I actually do have legs....

Can anyone recommend some tights that are flattering? I dont want "old lady" thick onessmile but maybe some support ones. In M&S they seem to be 7 or 10 denier "look" which are unlikely to cover the red blotches and vein on my heavy pins!

If all else fails I could resort to leg makeup, return the dress - can anyone help?

I used to be very concious about my legs, but since have embraced no caring what others think and doing what's best for me. I get paranoid sometimes, but overall it's made my life much better smile

Penny Sally Hansen is not a long lasting spray tan which fades over a few days. It is a leg make up which is immediate and will wash off with soap and hot water. It doesn't cover 100% but could certainly help under tights.

The false tan spray or cream develops over a few hours and fades gradually.

Please come back and tell us how you get on.

Not sure you are all still there - I hope so - it has taken me a few days to get to the shops due to Easter. I am now the proud owner of the SH Airbrush legs!

When I first tried a bit it seemed too light in consistency to help but actually it does what it says on the tin - overall the effect is blurring of defects (!!) I went for the medium colour and its good for a slight suntanned effect. It does help so thank you Coolgran 65 for the suggestion - ideal for mid calf length dresses and I shall probably also get a pair of fairly sheet support tights for my one knee length dress.

A new me...

Glad you found something you could use penny. Quite honestly, vanishing cream is my only hope confused

Leggings and a tunic are a good option.

Probably not any use to most, especially in the very short term, but I've been extending the miles I cycle for fitness. The other day hubby said I used to have the start of varicose veins...and now they're gone. Looking at my legs they're definitely improved. They need tanning, as I have age spots etc but that'll come with cycling in shorts. So is this a result of ramping up miles over a period of 7 months from 7 miles a couple of times a week to upwards of 20 hilly miles every few days? I have no other explanation but if so it's another option to creams? (I used a tanning cream and ended up with orange legs....hey ho)

Why do people hate bits of themselve?. i do not have a perfect figure or face, far from it, but neither does anybody else. When I go out I see lots of average people with average looks. I rarely notice any defects. If I do it is in no more interested way than I observe the colour of their hair.

But hate my hands for being large and square and workman like or my lips for looking like two sausages pinned at the corners? I cannot see the point.

Have you tried asking advice from some of the members with.mobility problems, arthritis, knee replacements, using walkers, mobility scooters or wheelchairs?
Sorry to be such a grump, but there are worse things in heaven and on earth than the right colour of tights.

Hear hear Alea- almost 1 month after my full knee replacement, I was thinking just that- but you beat me to it.

All I want now is for the pain to go away.
