clothes that fit?

I love White Stuff (it has superceded Fat Face in my affections) and I too havev7fge denim dress But I very rarely buy anything full price as their sales are so good ..Impulse bought a spring weight top there yesterday Reduced by £8.50 Another £4 came off at the til.
I find Boden way too pricy and a cotton cardigan I did buy in a sale 'went'at several places on the seams quite quickly

Another White Stuff fan. Find their clothes very wearable, especially their tops and as the styles are quite classical, though with unusual and interesting colours, they look good in any age - as if we cared about that!

Still love M & S, their Jeggings are great for me (I'm a size 22), like Cotton Traders but will try some of others suggested. I like good fitting jeans, love the ones I'm wearing M & S with elasticated waistband, only good for housework/gardening now, must get some more

I am 73 and will never give up on smart clothes. Me+Em have realy good sporty/leisure clothes and have a good sale atm. I buy all my going-out gear from Winser of London, or Wall. All internet. Haven't purchased clothes in a shop for years. I am a great bargain-betty and rarely pay full price! Mind you, I make an art-form of fashion buying which I appreciate wouldn't appeal to everybody. It's one of my hobbies!

Still like M and S for jeans as they seem to accommodate my bulges fit me well. White Stuff is good for comfy but smart tops in vibrant colours and I've recently discovered Sea Salt. I also like the Mantaray range in Debenhams for tops but I'm another sale seeker and I'm not averse to a good Charity Shop bargain either!

I Like East. Their sizes are generous and lots of natural fabrics. Also their colours seem to match, so if you buy something one year it will blend with something you buy the next. Great Sale bargains. I use to have a shop near me and I would pop in when passing to see what was on Sale. They then closed the branch as the shop rent was raised. I was so disappointed I complained to the town council. It was replaced by another card shop where I refuse to shop.

I find Tu trousers an excellent fit. I am tall and a size 14. I like Nomads and Sea Salt. Gone off Boden as they are now a little garish for me and not such good materials

I like White Stuff tops, dresses and skirts. Per Una Jeans. I was a FatFace fan until recently but the quality of their clothes is not really that good.

The problem with Cotton Traders in the sizes are 14-16 or 18/20 but I have bought nice things there in the past and my husband is a great fan of theirs. I also love White Stuff clothes which are generously sized but the skirts are too short for my liking. I also like M&Co (found in small towns) and used to buy at Monsoon though haven't been there for a while.

Does anyone have a problem with bingo wings? The clothes sizes fit ok but I find I am having to buy things 2 sizes bigger for my upper arms to fit in. For this reason I tend to stick to woollen things that will stretch but I can't find a decent blouse with larger sleeves for love nor money.

knitnut have you considered a top with a dolman/batwing sleeve?

Whitestuff, Fat Face and Mantaray for me, too. I used to get everything at Marks and Spencer but gave up on them a couple of years ago.

Watch out if you are buying Debenham's classic jeans, £20. I bought three pairs before Christmas and on all three the left leg is twisted so that the inside seam comes round the front. I have shortened, washed and worn two of the pairs but I am taking all three back tomorrow to do battle for a refund. The date for a refund has passed but I say they are 'not fit for purpose'. Do you think I'll get my money back?

NotTooOld - when in a similar situation, I googled and found The Sale of Goods Act...stating at item must be fit for the purpose and that the retailer is responsible for sorting it with the customer. I printed it out to show the store. You could have it on your phone.

This particular Act also states that if goods are faulty then a receipt isn't necessary.

I was glad I had done so as the shop manager insisted on the receipt and I produced The Sale of Goods Act. Manager insisted it was store policy to have the receipt.

I asked...So does your store policy (Asda) supersede The Sale of Goods Act. He capitulated and I got my refund. If not my next step would have been Trading Standards or CAB.

Lands end for jackets, trousers. I make some of my clothes having got my sewing mojo back after a long break. Definitely not M&is, their clothes are so dreary now.

Granjan. I'm a size 16 and bigger up top I have such a problem buying clothes. I have started using Marisota online and there's not much I have sent back. I'm wearing dresses for the first time in years even bought one for a wedding and it fitted. Their prices are great and they have really good sales. I have an account which I just pay off when I buy something and always get emails for 15/20% off or free delivery. Have a look at them online.

Thnaks Lots of good suggestions for Spring here! Will give them a go as I am stuck in a rut at present due to decline in M&S clothes which were my "go to". Also find it annoying when clothes are marked 14/16 then 18/20 - not great for 16/18 which I suspect is quite a few of us!

Bon Marche is great. The clothes are bright and modern and the sizing is generous.

Im 64, and shop mainly in Joules and Next. I get my jeggins form M & S . Tu at Sainsburys is worth a look too. I like White stuff and Boden, but only shop in the sales. Joules is excellent for jackets, and tops. Whitestuff do lovely tunics. Adina is also a favourite of mine and as the others have said, can be dressed up or down. Mint Velvet and Phase Eight are well worth a look especially in the sales.

A friend of mine enlisted a personal shopper in HOF and she said it was the best experience ever. No pressure whatsoever to buy, and she introduced her to brands and styles she never normally would have chosen.
