Brown spots on back of hands ()liver spots?)

I've been using organic apple cider vinegar on mine for roughly 4 months and it hasn't made an ounce of differnce. Strange how things work for some but not for others.

Yep, loads on hands and now face. Sure they re cos I love being in the sun. As someone else said, at least I've hands that work well, tho my thumb is arthritic. I'm grateful for hands that function, it's only age spots! I'm glad I'm alive !

I'd leave well alone.

My hands are covered in them too. I had the misfortune of trying a cream that claimed to get rid of them. As soon as I put it on it stung like mad so I washed it off, felt like an extremely strong bleach burning. No damage done but I am now happy with what I have! We live and learn.

I bought some very expensive face cream (Clarins) with a voucher I was given. It was supposed to get rid of age spots on the face and it worked really well, didn't sting and was lovely face cream. However, they have discontinued it and at £59 for a small pot it was a bit more than I would normally spend!

Don't worry about your hands, you could always use cover-up on your face if it worries you.

I have lots of them on my hands and arms, and a few on my face. I could never sit in the sun as I didn't tan, just went red, then peeled. . So I really didn't think that I would get the dark patches. They don't bother me at all.

Wot are Oliver spots??!! ?

My mum always said use lemon juice to minimise them.

I had several age spots on my face and hands from the sun that was impossible to cover with makeup products. I purchased dermalmd even tone serum on a whim and have never been happier. After six weeks my spots are 90% gone. I will tell everyone about this serum!

I have liver spots which appeared a few years ago. I have had prominent veins and knobbly arthritic fingers for longer than that. I think my face looks not bad for my age (no wrinkles, just sagging) but my hands look years older.

I've never tried covering them up and tbh I can't imagine why I would I'd rather sit outside or garden till I went brown all over. I'm quite tanned anyway and have loads of freckles so sun spots or whatever you want to call them are just big freckles. I can think of lots worse things to have to deal with.

I used to have quite a few on my hands until I started exfoliating with silk worm cocoons (Amazon, about a fiver for a bag full) you just soak a cocoon in hand hot water for a couple of minutes, then rub over the skin, safe for face too. Don't be too hard with the rubbing otherwise you'll scratch your skin, just gentle but firm movements. The soaking releases a protein it doesn't soften the cocoon.
I don't have any brown spots now, just prominent veins!
Moisturise afterwards with any hand cream.
Cheap and effective.

Forgot to say that the cocoons smell like wet wool!

I have lots of marks, spots and veins that have appeared with age. I don't notice them on other people so why would they notice them on me! I don't use anything other than normal moisturisers or hand creams because my skin feels tight and dry otherwise.

I must admit I was a little perturbed when my 5 year old DGD asked why my face was all cracked. She seemed quite happy with the answer, 'Because I am old.' I do try to answer their questions honestly! Hopefully she now sees the aging process as normal.

I have a couple on my face but nothing much on my hands I really think it’s all part of me and I don’t feel any need to ‘treat’ them I m pretty tanned most of the time as I like my garden so why worry

They are just age spots, whatever their technical name, we are all going to get them, just be glad you're not getting other nasty warts or cancers that are dangerous and have to be removed.
Disguise them as best you can and grow old gracefully!.
