I use rollers, hair straighteners and heat protector and a wide tooth comb...and it works for me. Much easier than trying to blow dry it straight. I wash my hair, spray it with heat protector, dry it freestyle (gently) then I use more heat protector and straightners ...by piling my hair up and doing it in sections doing the underneath first. Once done, if needed I comb my hair and insert rollers and leave in for as long as I can. Make sure you use the biggest rollers you can find, as I once used the wrong size and they got tangled in my hair and had to have some cut out!! I always do this 2 days before an event so it has time to calm down. But I do use the straightners every morning just to "re-shape". It sounds lengthy but it takes less than 5 minutes every morning.
Trial and error, but nothing is impossible...you will get there.
