How old is too old for an Alice band?

I think it would very much depend on the style/colour i.e. thin brown band on brown hair.

Never too old. I know someone in her seventies or eighties who wears one always, the plastic kind. She looks great.

110? I am not aware there is an age limit. Just depends what kind of band you choose to wear. A look in the mirror should tell you whether you look OK or a bit ditsy.

My friend and I saw a woman of 70ish wearing a jojo bow today. It was huge and striped and looked ludicrous.
I love Alice Bands and if I had long hair I would wear one of the narrow velvet ones.

I think these can be worn by any age

Thanks everyone. I was thinking of a narrow, plain one, just enough to keep my hair back - bows are not really me! I like the sound of a narrow, velvet one, Annsixty. I've never seen those headbands before Tanith, so thanks for that. They look lovely. I might treat myself.

One of my neighbors wears them often and she always looks really good.

I have been known to wear a narrow tortoiseshell alice band to blend in with my greying brown hair. I never thought about being too old to wear one!

My DD has Alice type band which she used when growing out a fringe.
It is a thin band of what looks like plaited hair.
Her hair is mid brown and she bought one that was a good match for her own hair.

I think I have seem them in the hair and beauty section of the Kleeneze book.

Go for it, nought wrong with a nice alice band., or else perhaps hair-slides or even those side combs.
How lovely to be lucky enough to have thick hair. I wish!

I often wear one especially when I am gardening as it helps to keep my hair out of my face. And, dare I say it, helps to hide the grey regrowth before a visit to the hairdressers!

I`m 74, and I wear one whenever my hair is getting longer, until the next time I have it cut.

Yup, I wear one too. I have really thick hair in a medium bob and find it helps a bit to keep it out of my face in windy weather. I kept checking with DH if he thought it looked silly but he says he can hardly see it so I'm going to carry on wearing one.

My friend in her late 60's wears a narrow one all the time. It looks fine on her-it's a bit of a trademark, she wouldn't be the same without it.

I keep one in the bathroom for when I bother to do a face pack, but frankly I look ridiculous, it needs a young face.
Slides are a complete no-no for anyone over 10, and as for bows!?

If a band is the same colour as your own hair, it wouldn't even notice, so I can't see that it would be 'too young'.

I wear one for tennis but don't think I'd go out in one. The ones Tabitha suggested look more grown up. IMO.

If you have a Claires Accessories shop nearby I suggest you pop in as last time I looked they had quite a good range of Alice bands and other hair things. Slides. Wraps. Bows . Scarves etc etc
I keep saying I'm going to get some for when my fringe needs a trim and in summer as I always end up with half a tanned forehead and the other half still white .
