Uniqlo have a Sanderson collection using Sanderson prints. The T shirts are baggy and cover the bottom, I’ve bought 2 at £12.90 each good value. I’ve also bought some of their ankle length jeans, Marimekko shoes and T shirt.

(51 Posts)I'm an absolute sucker for summer clothes. All the linen dresses, floaty tops and pretty sandals. I try not to buy things I don't need but so far I've bought a lovely H&M top, a pair of comfy (and cheap!) chinos from Marks, and this pretty dress from Boden.
Anyone else want to share any new summer purchases?
Exactly Maw and come to that we can’t afford a new top of the range car, but I hope those who can, continue to buy them or the car industry will suffer.
Ditto anything else very expensive.
I have a friend who always looks great and most of her buys are from charity shops.
A couple of new t shirts from M&S new bra and sandals from amazon.
I have just spent weeks looking for a cotton, simple shift shape dress in a S.24 (I am 5.9 and after three cancer ops, two on the liver, my waist on one side has never returned ......my excuse, anyway !) but this is a total impossibility .....some lovely dresses advertised, but nothing is the right size...if it fits it is far too short (and what can you do then with no hem allowance to drop !) OK if you are short you can turn it up but all I can do is resort to maxi and turn them up ...but they are not in the style or material I want .....cannot find even an ordinary shift dress pattern in my size either (not that I have dusted off the sewing machine for over 10 years ! but in desperation who knows ,,,,,,,
I did get a lovely sateen cotton dress in Debenhams in February in their sale ....£59 down to £39 down to £15 ....but that was the only one that was just below the knee on me ..............Bought some lovely material and found a local dressmaker, but still no pattern ................perhaps I should give in and just wrap it round me .................anyone seen ANYTHING or suggest ANYWHERE (not Evans ...dresses still too short, and nothing I like !) have to be online and deliver to France !! M & S hopeless in their Curve range as well ....................
Our summer season is so short I never seem to wear any of my summer clothes out! I have treated myself to a new pair of sandals though, and picked up a couple of bright coloured jumpers with elbow length sleeves that I will probably get more use out of in an English summer!
Masses of new stuff - well new to me anyway - all necessary due to losing a lot of weight and all sourced from charity shops except a pair of orange chinos from Sainsbury’s which I dithered over because I am not yet confident in my new svelte body, but they make me happy?
Violette Box2 have a range of linen and cotton jersey dresses which are long. I have to shorten them. I love them and have several, acquired over several years, as they are not cheap.
I only spend about £50/year on clothes as I hate buying clothes when I’m so fat, nothing looks nice, so I don’t bother.
Oh Marianne that sounds sad! I'm sure you look fine. Why not try and cut back on your food intake and reward yourself for each half stone you lose with something nice to wear.
LyndaW the jumpsuit was from Tu at Sainsbury’s I got a few compliments hers a link.

Thanks for the info LindaW. Boden here I come. I have a holiday later on in the year plus one we are planning for next March so needed some new lightweight clothes. Just spent a fun day shopping with a friend and bought a linen dress from Sahara plus a couple of pairs of culottes. Time to give the credit card a rest now!
rocketstop read up the thread there are a fair number of posters who have bought little or nothing and for many of us that is not because we are financially stretched or unable to buy more but because we are quite satisfied with what we have.
The easiest way to stop being 'bombarded' by online advertising is to install AdBlocker, [adblock-chrome.en.softonic.com] It is free, so the poorest can access it, then there will be no online advertising to worry about.
You can also just ignore advertising. I have never understood why people feel that they ought want or buy something that they hadn't already decided they wanted and could afford just because they saw some ads.
I hate clothes shopping so when I get something I like I buy it in every colour. Lazy I know but it works for me. Can trip me up sometimes though, went to work once wearing one black shoe and one navy one!
Monica I don’t think it’s a case of the adverts persuading me to buy something I don’t want - more a case of them showing me things they know I like (because I’ve already looked at them on John Lewis’ website or wherever), and then gradually wearing down my resistance because that dress has appeared for the fiftieth time and I just can’t resist any more
Two Anokhi for East skirts from eBay, two linen shirts, a Hobbs skirt and M&S jade crop jeans from charity shops, leather sandals, espadrilles and two pairs of canvas lace ups (£3 each) from a local shop selling end of ranges. Love clothes, particularly well made ones, but not shop prices, won't help the retailers much but will help the charities a little.
I LOVE clothes from Asda. Most of what I wear comes from there (apart from bras, they don't do my size!) I buy loads of clothes for my 4 grandchildren from there too, and bedding.
I've recently bought dresses, socks and knickers for the girls, and shorts, T-shirts and pants for the boys. I've had 2 dresses and 4 tops.
2 tops, linen dress from tillets clothing. I can visit the shops but they are online too (great prices) Shoes/sandals and bags are good from them too
Dear Panache!
Would LOVE to know your recipe for loosing weight! Pretty please!!
janeainsworth, if you do not want to buy something specific do not browse websites once you have bought it. If my birthday present buying experience yesterday, is any example, the adverts just offer you more of exactly what you have just bought, so are of no interest.
Have only bought one new thing for summer so far, a dress from BAM, because I've too many clothes, and don't like parting with them. On the subject of length, it really annoys me, and is little help, when the blurb says, 'Our model is 5'10' and wearing size 8'. I don't want to know that, I simply want to know how long the garment is.
Re long dresses for taller people, whatever happened to those shops called Long Tall Sally? One of our nieces is wonderfully tall (5ft10") and I know she used to like them.
Yep, just googled and they're still there...
Sulis............I don`t honestly think you would wish to follow my "method" of dieting but I will give you just a few bare facts as others will probably be sick of hearing this story!
I had a week in hospital in Sept 2016......and by Jan 2017 I found I had lost over 3 stone.I was not on a diet of any sort.
There have been many various and still ongoing procedures,Hospital trips and visits to various departments .......all trying to find the root cause.
Another 3 weeks in Hospital in February I lost another 9 pounds (was very ill and the food abysmal could account for this loss)
Am still losing at about a pound a day.
So a total of some 4 stone has resulted in me shrinking all over, sadly from the bust and face.........but hurrah for the loss of big bum and stout figure!
But as I said........I would not wish this on anyone........even my shoes are 2 sizes too large!!
be very careful what you wish for I would add.
Violette, I recommend Gudrun Sjoden to supply what you want. If you dislike the folksy patterns there are actually solid colours as well. Gudrun's online buying system is good and the catalogue is lovely.
Blinko I used to get almost all my clothes from 'Long Tall Sally', but now tend to make most things instead.
I'm not the greatest needlewoman, but can manage skirts, dresses, lightweight tops and slouchy, elasticated or tie waist trousers and shorts (shorts are strictly garden wear).
If I want something for a special occasion, or tailored, I steel myself to go shopping, but would much rather make what I want in the fabric I want, and as a plus, I never run into anyone else wearing the same outfit!
